Yes, definitely some manipulation, and the reverse correlation with the Bitcoin price jump is pretty clear to see. The Bitcoiners are looking for some sustained price increases now, the past few months slump and doldrums seems to be over, and 60K plus price targets are being suggested again.

Seems like it's been back online for some folks for nearly a day, though not for me, I checked a few hours ago and got the 'error' page. But it's consistently on now, anyway. Hopefully it's a one-off, and not some dodgy hard-drive that's failing intermittently etc.

Oh come on, it's clearly baloney marketing. You'd need at least 5000 US Dollars to get a laser even vaguely capable of doing anything useful. This thing will put out as much light as the ones fitted on my bicycle. Notice it never mentions the performance specs ? Notice the pictures of what 1000 Watt lasers can do, with the *illustrative images of laser cleaning tag, not showing what thi

A similar discussion came up on a UK forum ( about a small batch run of dedicated river scoops ).
The high manufacturing cost was largely due to the laser-cutting of the holes, something like 900 of them, requiring about 60 minutes of continuous cutting. Then add in the bending, the hand-welding, the cleaning, polishing etc, and the manufacturing costs get very high. Then there's the design

While a seperate Buy / Sell / Trade sub-section would be the best solution, I think it's unlikely to happen, for 'technical' reasons.
So, if we're going to get items listed in the general discussion forum, it would be nice if it was very obvious from the title that it was an item For Sale / Wanted etc. I've clicked on all of these recently:

Got to admit, I had considered buying some a couple of years ago, related to some Geotech1 threads on detector operation. I never bought,... but I have accumulated a fair number of 'ferrite' adjustment slugs from radio-frequency transformers, salvaged from electronics scrap. A large enough array of them ( several hundred ) could simulate 'ground'.
[ and they may not be ferri

Little bump:
Here is something that could have a significant upwards effect on the gold price over the next year or two, known as the
"Basel III agreement":
It happens at the end of June, but it's not unreasonable for it's effect to be seen beforehand, it may be partly factored-in already. But it's certainly something to be aware of.

I've not had my Eqx apart to examine the details of the battery and it's wiring ... but I'm sure anyone handy with a soldering iron could swap over the cell, which is a standard 26650 size. Choose one from a good brand/manufacturer with a nominal 5000 mAh ( or slightly more ) capacity.
I don't see any need to buy a "protected" cell, with a small electronics board in

The RS page has links to the datasheet, where the pin diameters are shown:
0.64mm ( soldered to the PCB )
0.46mm ( inserted into the mating socket )
These seem pretty much standard for machined pin type.
Ebay sellers may provide detailed data if you ask them.

Here's an example of the part from UK-based distributor RS Electronics:
You would be wanting to purchase from Mouser or Digikey or some other US distributor, though Farnell group are also present in the US.
Key features needed to find them are: PCB header; machined pins; gold plated ; 0.1" pitch.
They are commonly made in longer strips like 32-way, and then cut down, so don't

This 'buried stash' topic came up some years ago on a UK forum. I had the idea that placing a layer of ferrite rods above the loot would effectively hide it, as it would appear like a strong ground signal, but hopefully wouldn't trigger any 'non-ferrous' indication to the detector-wielding thief. I never did try it out, maybe later in the week I'll tinker.

I adjusted my earphone volume so that the optimum setting of the F75 volume-control was " 75% ". That way , if it gets turned up, it can't really deafen me, if it's reduced, I will soon notice.
On some equipment like HiFi, they fit circular felt 'washers' under the knob, but this is no use for a detector that will get wet. But you could perhaps find some water-res

I probably didn't explain too well. I was thinking of the machine operating at the one frequency, as normal, but giving an indication of more than the one target.
For example, at 6.4 kHz, it would pick up on the 3kHz dime, but would it also know and be able to indicate ( audibly, or even visually) the 25 kHz canslaw too ?
If it was operating at 18kHz, would it pick up a deep 20 kHz gold ri

Real estate is also a long-term liability, and requires continuous time and money spent on it in order to actually achieve the price gains generally observed. Not only do you have to maintain it due to wear, damage, weathering etc, but you have to keep it reasonably up-to-date. Having a well-maintained, clean 1970's kitchen in your house is not going to impress a potential buyer. He's g

"BUT what is that flat worth now? Why was he trying to sell it ?"
He originally worked in the town where the flat was. But he changed job to a town 15 miles north, and didn't care for the commute, so was looking into moving.
Re: the value of it ... there was a surge in property prices from 1998 to 2002, that would probably have helped him break even, and freed up his options re

Do you think it can ALSO determine the canslaw is there ? Or is it just that it has a natural tendency to favour the target that best matches its chosen operating frequency ? If it's able to say 'there's a dime' and 'there's a pulltab' , that would be a neat trick to implement, a good use for stereo audio, too I feel. 'Dime' signal in both ears togethe

"Real Estate will never go down"
It certainly did here in the U.K from 1989 to 1994. I worked in an office with a fellow who bought an overpriced flat (US: apartment) for 100,000 Pounds in 1988, with a substantial mortgage loan. By 1992 it was valued at 45,000 Pounds. He couldn't sell it, because he only owned about 15,000 worth of it, and he still had to pay the high mortgage rep

"What happened to 2000 Dollar gold?"
It was driven up to those levels because of Wuhan Virus and the resulting economic disaster. Since October, there's been optimism about vaccine roll-outs, the expectation the virus will fade away significantly after a second wave, and some normality will return economically. So gold's been drifting down since then. In addition, it's t

Quote kevinnc: "I don't see where Park 1 and field 1 is using the low frequencies in multi mode"
I think it IS , but you have to understand that 'Low' in Multi-IQ is 7.8 kHz , not especially low, and considerably higher than the 'corner frequency' of the dime , about 3.0 kHz. So it's still going to hit a staytab pretty well, too.
Whereas choosing 4kHz a

It looks like data privacy advice to me, I don't see why it shouldn't connect to another device.
It's a shame there's no simple way of charging it up .. I'm an electronics engineer, even I would find it tricky to improvise something. If you know someone else with this ring, and you posted it to them and they returned it quickly, it should still have enough charge left ..

An interesting doodad, I'd never heard of them before. However, they seem expensive. If you're just wanting a sleep/fitness tracker, the wristwatch-style Fitbit and the many cheap clones would be a better choice, some of these clones can be less than 25 US Dollars, a quick scan on US Amazon produced a few, like:
The charger will have a coil of wire with high-frequency AC voltage on

I wonder how Albert "Earthmansurfer" is doing ? BTC is on a surge at the moment, reaching 27 000 US Dollars, looking rather over-bought and a good time to think about taking a profit, on some of his holding, anyway. Then he can buy that Spanish Villa in the sun, ready for his retirement.
Remember early in this thread, when Albert was encouraging us to take interest, at 150 Dollars. B

Yes, you've re-discovered what was discovered in the previous threads on the topic, as I mentioned earlier.
Presumably the seemingly simple change are in fact not so simple, which is why 'WildWally' ( who looks after the site with Tom) has not changed things.

Combining Park1 & 2 ( or Field1 & 2) seems like one possible use for stereo mode.
I'm certain I brought this up some years ago in relation to the supposed 'dual-freq F75' machine, proposing it could run 13kHz in one ear, 39kHz in the other, if it ran 13/39k as its multi-freq system.

And my electronics/software thoughts:
* The On/Off power button has shown to be a weak point. A more robust switch is needed, maybe a custom version of the standard one with solid fixings, like a metal frame with through-hole mounting. Perhaps a custom-designed switch?
* The USB/charger cable should be 30cm / 12" longer, it would be more convenient for charging.
* On the current mac
