My "Canon" camcorder has one and it's frustrating to use as it tends to 'overshoot' the Setting you want to change!
And it would be just impossible to do that with gloves on...

Back in the land of VFLEX, the 'X-Terra's', I found it helped at times to operate in 'Beach Ground Balance' in grass pasture fields as it really helped [ clarify ] dubious ferrous signals and also for a Yes / No response.
In other words, if iron was very wet and the 'magnetic effect' low, then it [ wouldn't see it (no signal) ] whereby checking with a diff

"Freight" or 'Shipping' costs one reason I quit Flea-Bay
Got quite the few "shocks" at the Post Office...
Another time I chose a recognised 'overnite shipper' Paid the 40 bucks expecting an extremely satisfied 'Equinox' owner calling the next day to say how happy he was!
Turned into 5 days and not 'a happy camper', and to top it a

njnydigger,
Glad you posted... thanks a bunch. Appreciated.
I'd have to take both machines and spend an afternoon listening and testing and tweaking...
I'm afraid that "I've forgotten" more than I remember at this stage about how they sound and which does what!
Contrast that with DAILY use of all machines including weekends spent at all the travel stuff and my bra

I get why he's asking the question.
My short (but intense) usage of the 600 clearly showed to me that single 5khz freq produced "cleaner, less dirty mxed signal responses" (shown in my videos before removing) and better, easier and more [ understandable ] tonal respones than those signals "heard" in Multi

Wonder just where on Cape Cod???
Wonder if it's my former 'patch' in "East Harwich", into "Chatham" and "Orleans?"
I've always liked his videos and many years ago encouraged him to 'shoot' for better 'audio' in his videos!

Yes... Correctemundo...the weight...biggest drawback!
For years, I watched some of our 'older' Customers struggle with their heavy 'Explorer's' onto 'E Trac' and eventually onto the 'Deus' because in the lifetime of the Product', they aged as well! Even had a 'young woman' "apologise" to me as she hid from view behind a Dealer

Well done TNSS
Well said 'coinspader
Yup... they'll have to 'prise my E Trac', from my cold hands!
It was 'a difficult' birthing process (prototype running) and its potential was seen right away so I used it on many of my 'good sites' and made some lovely finds.
In contrast, 'CTX', birthing was much more difficult and didn't sit wel

Nice report Mr.D
Liked it.
Interestingly, I prototyped 'Explorer XS' in a large field in 1999
That day it would run @ Sens 1 only producing some scrap bits.
Due to that extremely low 'usable' Sens, I never bothered with the 14.4 hectacrrs again... until last year 2019 when it went For Sale.
So getting the owner's permission (again) after the 20yr gap I set about w

Steve,
"Throwing out a few scenarios and after hearing you are positive it wasn't "sweep speed" I'd say it was more the 'very rusted ferrous particle' that was present, you pulverised but a piece that hadn't corroded fully remained!"
Can you guys get back there easy enough? There might be another example just like this one???

Steve,
"I think I might have been there with you!"
In between making soup (bad flu last few weeks) I tried re-creating your conundrum!
Had to use my 'E Trac' as I no longer have my 'Equinox600' but, I do have an actual Minelab made 6" coil for the 'E Trac' as well as the standard larger coil. (we experimented with a 6" design housed in X-

It'll 'probably' be quite good? Dunno...but it's under development a long time as news broke about it last year if I remember?
YES - it does 'look like' the 'Knocks' and the other one, the 'Simple'...everyone copies each other..."Aice or "Vank-Wish" anyone!
"C-Scope", have been around since the '70's: I sta

Part 2 has been added to this thread.
I had to dispense testing other detectors against the Vista X due to circumstances. It'll be done soon but I feel would be best demonstrated in video rather than written form so look out for that in the next few weeks.
In the meantime, the first "Vista X" video should go up tomorrow or so. Hope you'll get to see it. Thanks for taking th

"Ziggy, It's just a damn good detector that's easy to use and also easy to write about. Your words are appreciated.
What I am liking about it is, it's also that bit different to others machines I've swung and it's got operational tricks that I am finding very beneficial.
Had some more written but when I went to Post the 'Review', I realized t'was w

Hmmmm....amazing how makers copy other designs / ideas - not always for the better!
Yeah...in another of those 'Threads', I wrote about [ liking ] the [ sit on your hand ] type of control box a.k.a. "AT Pro", and was [ delighted to see ] the new "Vanquish" design to fall into that category, perfect (in my humb
