Understood. thanks David.
I was starting to wonder about the silence on this topic.
Maybe as guys start understanding how to run this detector and dial it in, we will see more
reports on actual performance in dirt.
Thanks,
Bryan

TNSS have you done any dirt depth testing with the Tarsacci yet?
Unless I missed it I can’t seem to find any detailed dirt depth test numbers from anyone with this detector yet.
A simple buried Dime test is all I’m looking for at this point.

I have been using a carrot for a few years and have also worn through the tip. Still works though.
In the last year I have bought and tried the Whites TRX, Minelab Pro-Find 35, And Fisher F-Pulse.
After all that I’m going to buy another Garrett Carrot. It’s my favorite out of all of them.
My second favorite is the Pro-Find 35 and then F-Pulse and last would be the TRX.
I actually have a n

If you hunt places with 9-10” coins you should be happy with the 15” coil.
I have one park in particular that has really opened back up because of this coil.
I have never seen such an improvement in finds with any other coil, on any other machine.
Even though I can hit 9” dimes and pennies with the stock coil on occasion, the big coil seems to catch more of them
and also started netting me 1

Abenson in your last sentence you say
“I'm not ever going to take the Tarsacci to a park to dig just coins and I don't think it's intended to be.”
You don’t think it would be possible to take the MTD to an old city park and use it to sniff out real deep
high conductor silver and copper coins if mid conductors and shallow targets were ignored?
This was my intention if I were

The update has been fantastic for me. No chance I’m rolling mine back!
Not only has it improved the coin on edge detection, but also has greatly improved the depth meter and
audio modulation which was terrible before the update.
As far as coins on edge. I find a surprising number of them and I’m guessing soil type might factor in as
to how many might be in your location. Just a speculation

Thanks Sharpshooter.
Hopefully we will see more reports from others soon as this detector gets distributed.
For some reason there has been no information on coin depth tests in the dirt with this detector.
Usually that’s the first thing you hear about.

Tnss, am I interpreting your first sentence correctly that it does not detect a freshly buried Dime very deep?
I would like to know how deep this detector can see a dime both in mild and bad ground.
Just wondering if there has been a breakthrough in depth with proper ID with this technology compared to current VLFs on the market.

Tnss how is the audio modulation?
Can you get a sense of depth at all through the audio?
What about the pinpoint function and depth meter if it has any form of one at all..
Thanks for taking the time to put up the videos.

Thanks Tom!
Eye opener for sure.
Some quick testing inside my house showed that my Equinox did NOT choose the best
channel on its own when factoring in the air test.
I was able to find two other channels that netted me an additional 1/2” + using Multi.
I’m now picturing a new detector that constantly scans and evaluates the EMI and adjusts on the fly.
There could be a little EMI gauge/ch

Running Iron Bias on 0 I believe is maybe the top reason for my success with the Equinox.
It will false a lot but does better in Iron then I think it gets credit for.
In my opinion running the lower iron Bias settings of say 2 or 3 like a lot of people do isn’t worth the loss of unmasking ability
because the falsing won’t be eliminated unless you are using the highest settings anyway.

Very interesting for sure.
A video demonstration would be extremely valuable.
I would like to see some further explanation of the Tones and especially the Discrimination features.

I think some of our disagreements about these detectors stems from the type of hunting we do and our locations..
The Fisher/Teknetics Detectors just can’t compete in my area for deep turf, old coin hunting. It’s not even close.
CTX and E-Trac users will argue with me too, but I have sold both of mine because the Equinox 800 is hands down the best old coin,
deep turf detector I have ever us

Just because you have out hunted other Nox users does not prove anything.
I find that most hunters are not particularly proficient at hunting no matter how fancy their Detector is.
The Equinox does not have some of the visual features of the V3i and CTX but will out hunt them in skilled hands,
In tough conditions. All the information you need is there to be heard in the audio of the Equinox.
