Yes, the dealer machine does exactly the same thing. Any tone setting below 3 gives a squeal when the target is closer than 2 inches.

No, I can't. I went to the dealer in Ft Worth and checked another machine. When the number of tones fall below 3 the squeal/overload is heard I can do an audio and send it to you if you will PM me with you mailing address.

On my F75 ltd see any object closer than 2 inches to the coil (5")begins to squeal. I have read and re-read the instructions but can't figure out why it does this. Is the (2") the normal operating distance from the coil?

Thanks, Rover, Ithink you are correct but would like to know if the unit does not have a proper threshold in auto-tune, will that affect the disc circuirts?

Tom, when the threshold is set on a CZ (5 or 20) and the disc is changed from auto-tune to say, perhaps 0 or 1, what, if any effect does this have on the machine, or is the auto-tune circuit threshold independent of any other disc settings, and does the threshold have any effect other than in the auto-tune mode? Does that make sense?
