Thanks Tom for sharing this valuable preliminary information. The 10" elliptical concentric unmasking is most interesting to me, since the bulk of my recent prospecting activity has involved working high-density iron trash sites in pursuit of native silver specimens.
It is shocking to learn and appreciate the significance of iron masking with regard to valuable, large multi-pound silver

WTG Rod, an outstanding description / explanation of your recent detecting approach / experience, and exceptional display of your recoveries. Just an excellent presentation, such a genuine pleasure to read... well done. Congratulations... all the very best moving forward.

Hi ncwayne,
The links below provide information about the Infinium as it relates to prospecting naturally occurring silver nuggets and specimens here in northeastern Ontario. The primary focus is differentiating elongated / high conductive iron waste from silver, and some comparisons to the TDI Pro. To some extent, the information is applicable to other detecting pursuits.
The TDI Pro re

Thanks Keith for an instructive video made in a difficult EMI area. But despite those conditions, the threshold stability at max gain was a solid improvement, and your estimate of 18" on a nickel is impressive. These are encouraging results.

Thanks Keith for that quick reply. I'm looking forward to any additional depth testing in the motion all-metal mode that you might do with that coil when convenient for you. We silver rockhunters in northeastern Ontario rarely use discrimination modes, preferring the motion all-metal mode almost exclusively. And that is why I mentioned it. Again... thankyou, we appreciate your help.

Thanks Keith, your results are good to know as I have this coil on my Christmas wishlist. I am curious to learn whether you've tested those targets in the all-metal motion mode??

I agree with you MichiganRelicHunter, this disgusting BS detracts from the character of the forum. We could use an active moderator with the means and authority to delete such posts. These Blisstool people use this forum like pimps to promote their business. Why is this nonsense allowed?????????????????????????

Sven… thanks for the additional clarification.
Your last photo… would that just happen to be the provincial park beach area at Kakabeka Falls, Ontario (just east of Thunder Bay)?
Sure looks like it… I hunted the water there some 25 years ago, best hunt ever for gold and silver. Returned many years later while headed on a prospecting trip to Atlin, BC, the water level was low… but could onl

Dan and Mike... it seems to me that either unit ought to work for my friend re: coin and freshwater beach hunting.
No worries Mike... everyone has an opinion and that's fine. Your experience particularly with the F5 is known to me and accordingly lends considerable weight to your comments. Thanks you guys, your help is appreciated, and I think that pretty well wraps it up here.

Both these detectors appear to have same or similar feature sets, coil selection, and operating frequency. I'm not familiar with either unit, but received a question about whether one has any performance advantage over the other. Any information you guys could offer would be very much appreciated, and thanks...

Keith... what's needed here is a moderator with website authority to eliminate such nonsense. He has completely disrupted the forum by burying most of the current threads... what sort of person would do such a thing???

Kevin... glad to see you're still with us. Always enjoyed your posts, insights, and terrific sense of humor. I haven't posted much here in a very long time, but always check in. Not much to add to discussions on relic / beach topics, strictly an autumn prospector here in Ontario. But I hold Tom Dankowski, Keith, Dan-Pa and many of the others here in high esteem. I naturally gravitate t

I agree Dan-Pa....pinpointers are highly effective in my silver prospecting application where all too frequently multiple signals exist in our diggings. My rugged Garrett Propointer is a real timesaver. Although I usually remember to keep my thumb over the speaker at such moments, it has been completely immersed in water countless times, has withstood repetitive severe digging abuse, and yet it s

Steve... sounds like you will be changing locations over the course of the summer. What are your arrangements for accommodations... for example do you intend to be camping for the duration? Will you "rough it" similar to the Australian trip, or will you have a little more comfortable sleeping arrangements this time around?

Kevin... I think you did just fine for a first video attempt. The camera was steady, and focused on the holes and your retrievals, your voice was clear. In the future maybe slow down your talk just a bit. That is not a criticism... I hate to think how my first videos will turn out. But I'm going to try it in prospecting country, attempt to describe site selection, the soil conditions, detec

Tom... my unit continues with heavy EMI interference noise in the house in JE or DE disc modes at zero disc with or without the coil attached. Away from EMI sources it runs quite stable even in JE mode... a few clicks here and there. In town using... I run the iron discrimination higher for EMI control and / or lower the sens a bit as deemed necessary for acceptable stability.

Very nice write-up... refreshing change of pace... beautiful photo of terrific recoveries. Reminds me of years ago water hunting except that we tended to find a much higher ratio of wedding bands at our freshwater beaches. You've done very well Digs_alot, and deserve a hearty clap on the back!! Congratulations...

Hi Tom… I’ve recently posted my latest prospecting article to the Alaska Adventure Forum owned and managed by Steve Herschbach. I doubt this article will be terribly interesting to the coin and relic hunters here, but at least if they wish to view it they can at the link below…
Steve’s forum may very well be closed within a month or so. At that time I intend to post it over on TreasureNet

Nice post Chuck. You make a good point about including the trash as well the good stuff. I've found a few broken rings over the years and have got the local jeweler to do whatever is necessary to fix them. It's a small concession to my wife and daughters. Besides broken rings don't look nearly as appealing in one's gold collection.

Thankyou Keith for a very informative post. I've been inadvertently collecting bottles for decades while prospecting silver here in Ontario. Sometimes we come across old dilapidated cabins or their remnants and usually find old bottles, clear, aqua (sauce or medicinal types sometimes with writing on them), yellow (which I thought was related to sodium in the glass), and of course the mangane

Thanks wjs... that was a good video. I've never used the CZ3D, abandoned coin hunting years ago... but now think I would like to try one at the local park because it looks like a pleasure to use. Congratulations on the silver dime... what a nice find!!!
