I can't imagine the hobby division of this company profited 78M. That sounds incorrect. What did the govt contracts on counter-mine make? 1B?
If they made an Explorer with an XTerra's weight and balance, I'd drop 3K on it, but they don't care what I think

I found them not very interesting at all.
The problem with going back after you've hit it with a Minelab machine is most of the targets you'll dig are tiny pieces of junk at 3", not dimes at 11". Meanwhile, I'm cherry picking the next site.

Haha - here we go.
You can test this theory. Just drop a coin on top of some top soil with earth worms in it, set it on the refrigerator for slight vibration, and poor water on it, stick it in the freezer for a few days, thaw it, etc. See what happens.

QuoteNow, now, now,....
There is a place for findmall in this world.
If you feel all warm and cozy about a certain type of Tector, just go visit the specific section and read all about it.
Hey why not even make a post,... you aren't hurting anyone doing that.
No insults, no comparisons, no bad vibes,.... just be all civil and polite.
You might end up even giving someone a "good&quo

They are in the business of misleading those new to the hobby to sell more ads. I've not visited the site in over a year - in fact it's annoying when people link to it here. It just contributes to his hits.

I can assure you it will hit a 7" dime if you turn your sensitivity up. I think it's better in a bed of nails because it's concentric and less likely to false on the edge like a DD. It holds it's value pretty well, so if you buy one used, you could try it and sell it if you find yourself in line with the others in this thread.

QuoteI would say just the opposite -- it injects chaos into an otherwise very orderly universe. While the universe is incredibly orderly, it is also incredibly complex, and science has proven to be the overwhelming best bet to understanding its complexities. Science has not been kind to dowsing, ESP, homeopathy, alien abductions, and a host of other hoaxes, frauds, and delusions.
Yeah, you'

I remember when I believed in Santa Claus. That was very cool. It's comforting to have belief in the extraordinary, because it gives order to the chaos of the universe. I'm impressed that any adult could still have that level of faith. I wish I had it. As for me, I have no choice but to call you crazy until someone proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that dowsing or LRLs or ESP will

QuoteSteve HI doubt that the Excalibur, hailed by many as one of the best all around choices in a water machine, will suffer many lost sales with a MAP price of $1499
You're right. They will actually gain sales revenue because I bet the supply and demand curve intersect exactly at that point.

I never understand why self proclaimed free market supporters complain about pricing. If it's too high, don't buy it - then you've exercised your free market power.

Go with the excal and let the other guy dig the tiny pieces of gold because he'll also be digging falses and tiny pieces of other stuff. Blast by him and get the rings. Also DD pinpointing in rough or cloudy water (where you can't see the bottom) is way faster than concentric.

QuotejbowI think all the LTDs and SEs are the sae, just look different.
New SE's and LTD's are the same.
BUT the F75 has always been sold as an SE - so if it's older, it will not have boost - only way really to tell form a distance is the upper shaft is brass colored (like Keith said).

QuoteAlso while the changes you've mentioned are possible are they profitable?
I too am involved in business and the end-of-life processes that have to occur (it happens more often in the medical industry than any other), BUT I don't believe for a second that making an Explorer with better weight distribution is cost prohibitive. If an Explorer 5 was released as light as the F75 - WO

More proof that Minelab doesn't listen to their long time hunters....
I can't tell you how many times I've read and listened to current, loyal, die-hard Explorer customers (read: ones that convince others to buy ML) say, that the ONLY things they wanted were faster and lighter. The etrac was a step backwards in target ID for those that UNDERSTOOD the language of the Explorer so

Quotenow if someone invented a detector that would 100% positivily know for sure its a pull tab....then that person would be raking in the dough......
I always wonder if they'd make more money, detecting with an invention like this or if they'd make more money selling it to everyone.

QuoteWe all said a light unit first and though the unit is truly perfectly balanced, I do feel the weight after 4 or 5 hours
If they could give me an XS in an XTerra shell, I'd pay $1000 for it. Seems like EASY money to me. Honestly though, they don't seem to really care. Hopefully Fisher can put a multi-freq that competes with an Explorer.

This makes me sad. Find's is one of the many Internet farces. It's carefully sculpted for making money and has very little reality. Dave J will seldom get what people "don't like" about a detector. Unfortunately, not everyone is an "engineer" who can give him ideas. Most consumer ideas come from what people "don't like". He will seldom see t

I've never dug a ring with the Explorer crosshairs pegged to the bottom. They always seem to be nickel or higher. Every 10K I've dug has been a PERFECT nickel hit.

They would be if they had a linear TID. They are all the way right like silver, but at the bottom like foil. One of the reasons you can't beat the Explorer's in the parks.

QuoteA friend of mine got to try one of the 3030's out this weekend and was amazed. He said with the GPS, it will mark the spot you have hunted so you don't repeat any footsteps. That would be very handy for those large beaches.
Even the highest priced GPS used in a "sensitive" mode is only good to < 3m - It could be exactly where you are or it could be 2.9m away. How

QuoteMSRP, Dealer Prices, and MAP are three different things. No need to keep anything hush hush...Minelab isn't like Tesoro who has a set limit the dealers can't SELL a machine under. Minelab only restricts the prices they can ADVERTISE them at....thus why you find all the prices exactly the same on the Internet and such for their detectors. When you go to a Minelab dealer they can sel
