Re: Tom - 6 months ago
Harold yeah the lower frequencies does tend to false more on nails. I think the 5khz on the CZ's is what made the deep rusted nails sound like a good target on them.

Tom I'm going to give it a try in 4 khz in older sites that have deeper coins. But in modern sites I like the multi frequency option for shallow coins especially nickels. 4 khz isn't that great for nickels and gold jewelry. 4 khz punches deep in bad dirt. The 1266x was deep in my dirt and it ran at 4.8khz I think.

I ran it at 4 khz I didn't try the others but I see what Tom is experiencing. Is it going to make me stop using the Legend nope not at all. I feel that it is possibly one of the best detectors in bad dirt that I've ever used.

Re: Tom - 6 months ago
So I did test the Legend in multi and single frequency in my 3-4 bar mineralized Georgia red clay. I have a 10" clad dime that has been buried 7 years. In m1 and m2 I get a ID on it in the 20-26 id range. In single frequency I get a ID of 40-46. The depth meter was pegged. So on those deep items I plan on switching to single frequency to check the ID.

Well I think Minelab should have made the Nox 700 and 900 and manticore along with the Xterra Pro compatible with the ML 80's why should customers who own the ML 80's have to buy a different set of headphones. Then on top of that the ML 85's aren't even available to buy yet.. it's one of those what the heck were they thinking moments.

I really hate to hear of his passing. He was a great guy and was a wealth of information on detecting. Praying for his family during this rough time.

I have a nice Minelab Explorer SE Pro with Stock Pro coil and 6x8 SEF along with AA battery pack and RNB 3400 rechargeable battery screen cover and original box. I also have a 6" coil that I repaired that works fine that I will throw in too. I also have a set of Koss UR 30 headphones that will be included with it. Have two lower rods that is included. I'm asking 500.00 obo for it or I

I'll be getting one of these! I see it as being a well rounded don't need a engineer degree to operate it type of detectors. I always seem to have more fun with detectors like this opposed to one that you have 50 different settings to adjust and hope you are getting top performance out of it. I'd rather be detecting than adjusting and tweaking a machine half of the time I get to d

This is Dan Pa's CZ 5 that he had when he passed away. His daughter sent it to me to try and help her sale it. I sent it to Tom to calibrate it and make sure all was good to go. He verified it at 10.7 " in his dirt. The detector shows signs of use but has plenty of life left in it. I don't know how to upload pictures of it on here but send me a private message with your email addre

Keith I never really clicked with the Xterra 705 but I did with the AT-Pro. The Vanquish is a good detector if you give it time it has found me a lot of coins in places that the AT -Pro couldn't find. Rick I had the AT-Gold and I really liked that detector. I just thought that the Apex and me would click after having so many hours on the AT-PRO and AT-GOLD.

I'm kinda interested in getting one but I want any of you guys to chime in that have used one to tell me your thoughts. I'm thinking about selling or trading my Vanquish 540 pro pack in order to get one. I love the Vanquish and hope that I wouldn't be making a mistake getting rid of it for a Apex.
