Here's a bigger problem, the coming major renovation of our constitution to accommodate sweeping changes to the world under the guise of preventing "climate change".
2030 Agenda
Unanimous passing the UN back late last year.
The pope toured to support this.
Our leader went to the Paris climate change deal.
I find it hard to believe nobody cares what is going on behind closed

Climate change=2030 Agenda. It's coming and forget about representation or accountability. Definitely forget about any kind of freedoms we enjoy now. Vote for liberals and they will surely hasten the day this is a reality. Remarkable. Under the guise of "saving the planet", they will abolish the constitution. As I mentioned before, you need to study the 2030 Agenda to find out wher

Republican and I hope whoever gets it will be a conservative.
Let me tell you a scary story.....on second thought I will allow the reader to research it for themself.
I will not vote for anyone that supports 2030 Agenda.
If that ever gets adopted by this country, you just think you have problems now.....

It is my thought that even though manual ground balance is always to be desired, it may not be a deal breaker on this lower freq.
Yes, on the higher freq models, it is a must
So it is focused in on as an iron working detector, I hope we see more value line units in the future in this direction.
($900 or upwards is way too much for a niche unit.)

If and when all hell breaks loose, it won't be fun for any of us but I am thankful deathray, "country boy" applies to me.

I can imagine those in cities...will face mucho difficulties.

ron_c, I think that is a true all-metal with a threshold circuit that resets in a given time. ( IDX, foward trigger)
I have to agree with the sentiments that the manufacturers have used the terminology "all-metal" to mean almost anything.
But this new detector more than likely is a disc mode set to zero with tones.
We used to call true all-metal "static mode" since th

johnnyrebel, you need to understand so far Tom is doing preliminary tests. Also the quotes are likely from
different time periods within his evaluations.
So, it would be unfair for him to give you any kind of response right now.
Likely though he will know more in a few weeks...if he desires he can speak for himself, just thought I would point out the obvious.

+1 per Steve H. post.
These are specialty detectors at best...let's not forget lack of discrimination above iron or any type meter.
I have the feeling the reason the disc. stops where it does is because of design, it likely wouldn't be very successful above that range anyway.
Not that this detector isn't any good or anything like that...it is another tool for detectorists to

Good to know someone is thinking outside the box.

Tom, for what it is worth, I and many more here...really appreciate your forum.
Personally, I have respect for you putting up with the bunch of us.
However you run this forum, I am fine with it as I think you have been more than fair with your posts and dealings on the forum.
To all folks here, I am not picking sides or anything like that.

Reality shows...I hate them.
As I have stated long ago, the less the public knows about metal detecting, better off we are.
As already mentioned, when someone sees us detecting, immediately they will think we are getting rich.
It's a downward spiral, we already have been banned from detecting many places...these type shows will only get
a bunch of idiots to go buy detectors and do thing

Connor, here's a slightly different twist, concerning an external...if you could make up a real effective inline
EQ, likely it would be received widely...since there are many other brands/models that could benefit.
Just thought I would throw a curve ball....

I think one company had a product...if I remember correctly called ferrous hound.
It could be mounted on coil, I think.
There is one problem that I see with this, while it might work somewhat in open spaces, I don't think it would do too well
with co-located items or nail beds since I doubt it would not have a tight enough downward focal point.

Keith, sounds good.
I have a question about that iron that is bigger than nails but not really huge.
Take this scenario...not in the nail beds but say you are out in the more open spaces (trashwise).
And you get a hit on a carriage bolt or broken cast iron stove thin small pieces or other small-mid-size iron objects.
What I would like to know is if the Vista Gold is able to give you clues

Keith, I would think there is a difference between someone practicing dark arts...which I would suppose would
include dowsing and the ones who now claim that their dowser/LRL can find particular objects in the ground.
This was taken an extra step by manufacturing the devices and then advertising them as a legitimate metal (gold) locator.
Even a big mail order company in Florida was guilty of

The thing is as long as one knows going into this that these devices have no proven track record for doing what they claim they do.
Then if they spend their money...it is their money....and can spend as they see fit.....
Geotech's webpage is a good resource for learning more about these devices.
There are info pages, one in particular has a few of the better known makers/sellers and the

Yeah, markg, that type of "dowsing" later developed into "remote viewing".
That is in the realm of mind over matter stuff.
ESP and such.
Say.... forget the dowser and stay home...hold your finger over a map to find the treasure.....
Reading tea leaves all of sudden doesn't sound so bad.....

It's a long stretch going from a finding a water hole.....to anyone making a device specifically to find gold objects.
Think about that....how could it ever distinguish from all the other metals? Iron, brass, copper, aluminum, etc.
BTW, that's what this thread is about...finding gold with dowsing/LRLs.
As far as proving a universal negative...yes that is very hard to do.
There is

And that is the real problem with dowsing/ LRLs, NO FREAKING PROOF.
And till there is PROOF, we will always have the moaners claim it is something out of bounds of science.
I'd hate to recommend a product to anyone where I didn't have some kind of guarantee that i

It's ok to believe in something but when it comes to material devices that are supposed to find something..irt metal
then we step out of the meta-physical and can step into "scientific" evidence arena.
Empirical science requires a theory or method to be able to be repeated and measured.
So the bottom line is dowsing/LRL lacks any repeatability and the proponents aren't w

There is plenty of non-evidence to prove dowsing doesn't work for finding gold or other precious metals.
Steve H. is right on the mark with this.
Go to geotech and study the posts there...there have been money offers for those who believe their favorite dowser/ contraption works
yet none of them have stepped forward to participate in a double-blind test.
Now using a small metal rod/piv

Sort of slightly on topic, Monte in some of his posts complained about ground balance on the Tesoros...suppose that would
generally include the Tejon and Vaquero that the ground balance could cause the non-detection of larger silver coins.
I have no idea if this is true or not, it was something that I thought was odd...or perhaps it isn't odd, I dunno....
