Any dealers in Canada selling the MTD 8000...
Be interesting to have some feed back from anyone that has used one in Canadian dirt.
Thanks Whimp.

I've got a few older Tesoro detectors...would like to spruce them up a little.
Anyone making aftermarket decals for these detectors...or is there a way to make your own?
I'd like to replace the side decals on a few of them....Thanks.

Mobius Action cam....it's about the best I've found for the money.
Has great on line support..very clear video at 1080P... it has other settings as well.
Very small and light weight...it also comes with a standard angle lens or you can get the C2 wide angle lens
I've got 4 of these cameras...I also use them as dash cams in my personal vehicles...gives about 2.5 hrs on internal b

I have both golden's...a new tone and old tone...started out with the old tone first...I like both but the the new tone is now my preferred golden.
I'm running the 8" brown donut coil on it...seems to be a great coil match...also the 7" coil off my Mojave works well with both golden's.
This detector is great for parks and sports fields...the 3x18 DD coil is the best for

Keith,
It doesn't seem to make any difference on any conductor....gives a 2" depth across the board.
Also tried this on small iron..metal twist ties and old bits of nails...same results.
Still has the modulated sound...softer with depth.

This question was asked from a member on another forum about the Silver µMax.
If I switch the Silver µMax to all metal, its measurably deeper if the disc knob is maxed. Does it on an air test also.
I assume the disc knob should have no affect while the switch is in all metal?
The quirk gets you two more inches on a Silver µMax by turning disc knob to max WHILE in the all metal mode.

Rich,
We have had great weather...been in the high 50's mid 60's...giving a drop in temperature this week a bit but we can still dig here.
Ground doesn't freeze here until January or February on the coast...so we get a bit more time to hunt
Cheers Bob.

You are correct Rich...some have been opened and the pots played with...ground balance being one of them...with a need to try other coils
Also the tones can be adjusted out of wack and never able to return them to factory spec.
It's a trip back to Tesoro for a checkup...sometimes it's a couple times before the Golden is back to factory settings.
Thanks

As Sven has alluded to...Tesoro detectors are one of the best at finding Canadian clad...I started using Tesoro's last spring... first the Compadre then the Bandido2uMax and quickly found that he was right!
I've since bought a Golden uMax, Silver uMax and a Mojave....it's put the fun back into detecting for me..I also have 5 other top end detectors that now set as closet queens fo

Chris,
Gland your enjoying the trip...yes the Atlantic ocean is a tad cold at anytime of the year in this area
There are a few nice beaches along your journey...Sugar loaf near Dingwall, also Neils Harbour,Ingonish Beach,Wreck Cove...just to name a few.
Best to ask the local people where the best beaches are in their area..
If you happen to hit the southern end of Nova Scotia we also have lo

Hi Neugene,
Lots of beach's and parks in the Cape Breton area...only beaches you have to worry about are the historic areas one being Louisburg....if your outside of the park boundary's your good to go
I'm located in the southern part of the province...but was born in Cape Breton.
Hope you enjoy your stay with us....good luck.

Mike,
Here are a couple video clips of a guy from BC using the Mobious Camera setup using a homemade camera attachment...great camera and low cost, excellent quality 1080P or 780P.
Very small and light..easy to make mounts for it. .
This is the same camera I'm using on my metal detectors as well...I also use it for a dash cam also.
Good luck...

My golden has old tones...works well, just found a gold ring with it the other day.
I've only had mine out a few times so far, still learning the language...as far as depth goes I'm getting coins at 6" to 7" with the brown 8" donut coil.
My soil is pretty mild as well...my problem is learning the Canadian clad language...nothing like your US coins.
The up side...I'
