I've been using Mixed mode for the past 6-8 months almost exclusively and with my hearing and headphones I use, it is more like a two tone machine. There definitely is not a good enough separation in the mid to high tone...now in Aaron's video I can hear the difference....really do need more info on that....mod....
Would be nice if that is something Dimitar can do to the machines pri

Ditto what Steve just said!
"Tarsacci with 12" coil on 18-KHz, Salt Balance '18', Thresh '0', Black Sand 'OFF' on a saltwater wet-sand beach"
Exactly the settings I have been using on the wet sand with good results HOWEVER, I would never have thought about lower sensitivity settings still reaching those depths. Next time out, I'l

I found out one important fact from the video.....even with a regulator in his mouth he still talks...
I do like his videos but sometimes it's just hard to hear the machine over his comments.
Huge credit for getting in that cool water....better man than me for sure!

Didn't waste much of the hunt trying it Tom... I'm quite sure the "Dry" Salt Sand would be different however "IF" wet (act

Gave it a try in the water Tom, just too noisy "in the water" however when checking signals to my normal SB in 9KHz, there didn't seem to be a difference on coin signals. I'll definitely try those settings on the wet sand when wet sand season comes around..... its water season right now!
Oh, 750 GB didn't work over this side....back to 600.

"I accentuate this ability via the selection of the lowest operating frequency (6.4KHz)....... and run Salt Balance on '48' (a very high setting). {{{Black Sand: OFF & Ground Balance: 750}}}"
So Tom, have you tried this setup in the water? I have every intention of giving those settings a try in the water since when hunting with Todd I end up in 6.4KHz to eliminate the

I did....I've had 4 stainless steel scoops and only 1 from overseas has been up to the task of handling my beach hunting. The other 3 stainless scoops all made in USA couldn't last without numerous welding repairs. The overseas stainless scoop is now my heavy backup and the Extreme Titanium is my go to scoop for digging those deep Tarsacci targets. Just got tired of welding repairs and

Steve, here is a link to the show Treasure Talk that Dimitar was on. IF the link doesn't work, just search for the treasure talk channel on youtube and search through the videos of the shows.
Dew and I weren't on the show, we just went to help out with settings and hands on showing Phil the machine so he would be better prepared for his first hunt and to help others with setting

Dew and I got spent an hour at Myer's Metal Detector Sales in Tampa yesterday to talk to Phil about the MDT that he is now selling in his shop. We talked settings and showed how to adjust the settings.
Have to say the upgrade to the battery compartment is really nice and solid looking compared to the original plastic cap assembly. The newer one looks to be black anodized aluminum. Way to go

Dew and I got together for a long needed hunt together with the idea of testing the new coil. Main test for me was to determine what if any changes in tone at max detection depth. We used 3 different test rings and the pvc pipe testing setup (like Tom, Aaron and OBN have used) Using 9 KHz on both machines, 0 Threshold and in all metal to determine max depth, I was using a SB of 33 in 9KHz, I swit

Tom. I have NO statistical data to back this "gut" feeling up but I can't remember the last time I ever dug so many deep coins in the water. One dime reading did come out as a silver ring, no gold yet with the new coil but that is just a matter of time. Oh, I did break my Stealth scoop for the last time today, it can't handle those deep signals, back to the Stavr until I find

Steve, I've used just about every water detector out there and with the exception of the earlier Minelab Excalibur spring buttons, ALL have rusted to some degree. My Tarsacci buttons are just about gone after 2 years of use (actually one has been replaced already with one saved from an older Minelab machine. My Fisher AQ limited (approx 6 months old) already shows rusting on the button.....(

First run with the 12" at the beach. Nothing spectacular to talk about, new coil feels good on the shaft, NO noticeable shift in numbers for coin targets at depth in the wet sand or dry sand. After finding a deep platinum last week, I am more aware of targets showing some "iron" numbers at depth and last night I had one that I was sure was a deep penny with either a nearby iron tar

Steve, put me on the list for a Tarsacci shaft. After spending the time putting my new coil on the old shaft it makes so much more sense to just have that coil on its own shaft. (easier for testing purposes and swapping coils).Wnen they are ready, let me know!

18KHz during the whole test OR was a different frequency used when you found "* 15" on a Nickel in wet-salt.....with conservative settings. 16" on a Nickel in the wet-salt with aggressive settings....(easily achieved with skilled beach hunters).
Definitely some interesting preliminary findings!

Nice find there Dew....I was wondering what you were doing since we haven't stayed in touch much this month....My month has been much the same as yours.....except the gold! Back at it this weekend and next week before the travelers from Colorado stop by for the rest of December.....gotta get the gold next week or I'm done till 2021.

Thanks Tom, all points answered but before Dew asks.....how long is phase 3?,,,,,, :-)
It will be exciting to see its performance in testing and in real world hunts!
Center shaft/coil attachment point.....please!

Dew, I think if you read all the responses to Deb's post, you will find it is her AQ that is having problems, another guy said he has the same problem with his TDI and big coil in the water up there....the others that have problems in the water are in Hawaii.....not to say that there isn't a problem with the AQ in the water and having to change settings from optimum to work in the water
