That's really sad to hear Rick is no longer involved. I contacted him a while back when he first asked for interested parties and put my name on the waitlist. Months later I got the email and waited patiently for my unit. It has been everything I wanted in a PI water unit short of longer battery life and magnetic charging like the EQ.
Sadly through due to COVID and work, I've only

Lots of beach hunters have been asking for an updated CZ-21/20 for a long time now. I got tired of waiting and bought an EQ600. The Equinox is everything I wished an updated CZ would have been: lightweight, easy to swing underwater, increased performance (or at minimum no degradation of performance from the CZ), magnetic charging and detachable headphones. My only complaint so far with the Equ

I have two CZ21s that have been basically retired since getting my hands on an Equinox 600. I still love the CZ20/21s though because they are the toughest metal detectors that we have used for our style of metal detecting and can take a lot of abuse before springing a leak. My Equinox 600 lasted less than a year of light use before leaking behind the display and now that it's back at Minel

Thanks for all the updates on the MDT 8000, much appreciated! I'm not a full-time hunter like used to be a few years ago, but I have thousands of hours at the beach detecting underwater (1 -3M). Can't wait for the waterproof version...
I've been happy with the EQ600 over my workhorse CZ-20/21 so far, but this looks like it will check all boxes for my uses.

Hi Tom, thanks again for sharing details and the pics, which I've made hot for everyone. Count me as one who wants waterproof headphones for submersion. I hunt in 2-6ft. of water most times, fully submerged at the beach for about 6-10 hours a pop. If this does better than the Equinox (which is doing better than my old staples: CZ and Excal), then I would definitely be interested. Thanks

Thanks for sharing Tom, much appreciated! Would this unit be suitable for snorkel detecting at the beach (less than 2M of water, but fully submerged for the duration of the hunt)? Are the headphones waterproof?

I ordered two 800s in late February from KellyCo and they charged my card for the whole amount. I get a call about 6 hours later that they would be shipping toward the end of March. Fast forward to this morning and I called in to follow up since I had not heard anything from them - customer service rep, if you can call him that, said they don't know when they would be shipping any units an
