Thanks godigit. It probably doesn't have free shippiing, so we are talking about a cool grand. I imagine this is for the TDI, not the TDI Pro. Great info, though. If I had an extra grand laying around, I would jump on that too! Keep diggin...

Thanks Chris. Super conducting magnets, huh? Sounds like you could build a super detector while on coffee break. I have a feeling that there is no hope for eliminating those poptab rings. I guess PI detectors can not notch out aluminum. Gold and aluminum should give off different EM signatures, I would think. Like I know what I'm talking about.....

Greetings one and all. It has come to my attention that the White's TDI has a lot of potential to go deep, and also to discriminate out junk by fine tuning the machine. Very pricey machine, though. More of a gold (and silver) machine than a coin shooter. And definetly not your turn on and go machine. But from reading the information presented, it is a very interesting detector for finding go

So buy all the silver you can get your hands on, Possum mo. Especially the "museum" quality pieces. That's the only quality silver I will accept. Gold is rallying, also. (as usual, li

Greetings one and all. I was operating an Infinium LS with the stock DD coil at the shore this afternoon. This was at a beach that has been in constant use for at least the last 150 years. Salem - home of the witches, remember?
I was searching for gold jewelry and gold coins. I was down at the water line. I only dug on high-low signals, as would be the case for gold. I kept finding those can po

hi John. Yes, bobby pins certainly are the Infiniums nemisis. That's all I ever find at the beach are bobby pins. Quite a few people have been saying that the 14" mono works well on wet salt sand. Maybe my 14" coil is malfunctioning. Of course, I must admit, it could be the result of user error. I'll try it again at the beach, as I would love to use my 14" coil at the bea

Still researching....Make that ONE out of six treasure leads corroborated now. "If all the treasure that is credited to Kidd was actually buried, he would not have time to be a pirate," Lost Loot - Ghostly New England Treasure Tales, Hughes, Patricia. Schiffer Publishing, 2008

Greetings one and all. Anyone into doing research? I am. A couple of things I have found while doing research: Doing research takes a lot of time! My car has been in the shop for the past week, so I have not been able to go treasure hunting. So I do research. Another thing I have found out: You know those state lists of treasure leads? They are found on metal detecting forums and also in books. S

Hi Godigit1. Right you are! No, I was not aware of those Hydrolic pits. Yes, that is what I call big game also. Thanks for the wellwishes. You too.

Thanks, Rapidroy. No, i don't know anyone at the water dept. I guess I could contact Fisher, and ask them. And I can do some research online. And I can experiment with caves myself. Just been so busy doing treasure leads research lately.

Greetings one and all. I think the Fisher Gemini-3 two-box is capable of finding caves. Has anyone had any experience looking for caves with a two-box? Keep diggin.........

Hi godigit1. Can I ask you this? What do you think one might find on the coast with a two box? I think you can download the manual off the Fisher website. Yes, it does make reference to the size of the target. It says that the detector will not detect small items such as coins. Hydraulic pits? I don't even know what those are. And what do you think you might find of worth there? Sorry, a two

Hi Terradigger. I haven''t heard about the sliding coin thing, but my mod is similar. You may of heard of it. First, wrap a strong rubber band around the middle of the detector. Then insert a small iron rod under the band. (I use a big nail). Then, push the rubber band/iron up front, until the detector starts going off. Then back off a little, until it stops signaling. Works for me. I

hi Aaron. Your ProPointer-Would that be the Garrett ProPointer? If so, I have one of those. I am not the least happy with it. Piece of junk if you ask me. If you do have the Garrett, I have a very simple mod that will give the pointer some power.

Hi Walt. Did you find any rocks or black sand down there when you were getting false sigs? You may of hit some hot rocks or magnatite. Just a thought......btw, I would love to use my 14" mono, but I am a beach bum, and the mono doesnt work on the wet sand at the beach (unfortunately).

Hi Lazybeachbum. Thank you so much for your post about Lyme's Disease. I also feel like I have mono for the last two years. Doctor had me checked out for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, results negative. So I might have this disease. I will certainly look into it! Thanks again.

Fisher seems to take developing new and better detectors seriously. A lot of the other companies seem to take a laid back, hobby approach. You know who they are.

Such a fun hobby, isn't it? It beats collecting buttons. Snakes dont bother me so much, but you are right about those pit vipers. They are extremely aggressive. I am more fearful of gators and spiders. Even if a big spider (they can get up to four or five inches) isn't poisonous, they can take out a very serious chunk of flesh. Believe me, I know....And spiders are super observant, also

Caretaker, that is very interesting. Those animals are probably trying to figure out what you are doing. I enjoy using the complete cup earphones, as they cut you off from the world to some extent, but lately I am more comfortable using phones that allow me to hear around me. I imagine they would be mandatory in snake, gator, bear country.

You guys are too funny. You are welcome for the report. I didn't know that some folks were interested in learning about the two box. Once I get more experience, I'll provide an update.

Hi njnydiggger. You are right about all the hype. And I DO know one guy who went detecting so often that it broke up his relationship. But luckily, my gf loves to go with me when I go detecting. She looks for sea-glass, shells, rocks, etc.

It was a beautiful day here in Mass, clear skies, around 55. I took my new Gemini-3 to the seashore for my first practice/test. I'm sure most of you know, a two box has two applications: Finding treasure caches, and non-treasure applications, such as finding pipes, etc. The excellent user manual covers both apps. The build quality is excellent, seems to be quite a rugged piece of equipment.
