I promised to update this thread when Treasure Classifieds was back online, and I'm doing so now. Fully up & running, and have implemented a new system so all listing are uploaded faster than before. Also have some other cool stuff rolling out soon.
If anyone has questions or experiences any issues, just shoot me a PM.
Apologies once again for any inconvenience, and I welcome you

I'd like to apologize to anyone on here who is a Treasure Classifieds member. As the owner of the site, I suffered a stroke 8 weeks ago and was rushed to the hospital. I just got home from more than a month of physical rehab. While I'm thankfully on the mend, I was not able to keep the site going while hospitalized, and for that I'm very sorry. To any dealers, sponsers, members or

Create a Google alert - it's fast & free. If you don't know how, a quick online search or Youtube video will provide an easy explanation.
A Google alert is any word or phrases of your choosing: green apples, broken clock, Tarsacci metal detector, Tarsacci detector for sale, etc. Whenever this word or phrase is posted anywhere across the web (once you have an alert set up), you

Des, thanks a bunch! Looking forward to the info. And I'm the same way. After I stop using a machine I tend to forget a lot of the "nuts & bolts" stuff about them lol. It amazes me how guys like Keith can remember specifics about a detector years or even decades after swinging them.

Happa54 - Thanks for the kind words, sir, that feels like a long time ago. Loved doing the videos, but they were a lot of work, and really took away from the fun of the hunts, so I had to put it on the shelf for a while.
The Nox's are excellent machines. Tried one and liked it, but it was too far from what I was accustomed to with FBS: FE & CO info, the higher flutey pitched tones, et

I had the Safari for a few years and it was one of the greatest detectors I've ever owned. One of the tricks I learned to find ultra-deep targets with it was to listen for the "burp" or "dunk" sounds. Along with this sound, you would get a somewhat jumpy VDI reading. If that jumpy reading was mostly *and this is key* mid 20s to lower 30s, it was usually an old coin. The l

Tabman, if it's primarily deep coin hunting you're interested in, you might want to consider the Safari that Tex just posted. The Safari is one of the most under-rated deep coin machines of all time. I swung one for years, and it will do 95% of what the Etrac can, minus the bells & whistles. I found a ton of silver and coppers with mine, and it's just a FUN, EASY unit to swing.

I’m speaking for myself, but I’m sure there are others out there who feel the same as I do. If you take a look at the tidbit Steve posted, above (which I saw before buying as it was posted everywhere online), you’ll notice it says BBS/FBS has the “advantage” on silver in nearly all conditions versus Multi-IQ. Fine. However, it doesn’t state how MUCH of an advantage.

Tabman, detectingMO hit the nail on the head. It's okay. Others might chime in and say it's spot on, precise, tight, etc., but I can only tell you the experience that I had, nothing more. My hunting partner had the same conclusion as I did. Comparing the Nox's I.D. capability to the Etrac (which is what we use) isn't even a close call. The range on the Etrac is MUCH tighter, a

Tom, I've been checking back in here periodically to see what the general consensus from Nox users is, now that more and more have the units in-hand, and are getting out with them. As my post about a month ago indicated, my buddy and I went halves for the 600, and long story short, we pretty much came away with the same conclusion you did. The only difference was, we tested ours against our

I have the feeling a lot of guys out there were hoping for what you mentioned above, Steve. And I know because I was guilty of it, myself.
I was simply hoping for an Etrac packaged in a lightweight design with a touch more s

I agree with both sides on the shovel issue, but I lean much more heavily with Tom and Daniel’s sentiments.
The reality is, you have to go by the LAW, nothing else. As far as I know, there isn’t one ordinance in the country which says someone must use a hand digger versus a shovel, or vice versa. Meaning, a person’s choice of retrieval tool isn’t going to get them booted…or not. Nor will it en

Bryan (Cabin Fever), you make very good points that I happen to agree with, and I'm sure my lack of more extensive experimentation with the unit had a hand in its limited (for me) performance, and ultimately, my opinion of the unit. But I saw

It was my machine...actually me and my buddy's. We went halves on the 600 for @#$%& & giggles. Not because we bought into any of that "obsolete" horse crap. No way was/is Minelab producing a $700 unit that would crush their flagship Etracs/CTX's. What we were ACTUALLY hoping for, was possibly an Etrac-lite (or something close) wrapped in a lightweight, waterproof body with

Some fella stopped by Kellyco today and was surprised to see the Minelab rep there, Debbie, who let him play with an Equinox. According to his short review, the nox is a BEAST, and he claims it goes DEEP. Not sure if that's just guesstimating on his part, or if they did any testing, but according to the photos he posted, it appears they were putting the unit through its paces outdoors, maybe

First, Steveg, EXCELLENT post about the strengths of the FBS platform, and why it's your preferred technology. Sounds like we hunt the same types of spots, and have the exact same needs from a unit. I couldn't agree with you more, and I've been saying for years that there are a TON of speed/separation units on the market, as there are depth units. But Minelab offers an amalgam of b

This dipshit also tried posting on my site - Treasure Classifieds - but I wouldn't approve the listing since he was a new member and was selling a $2,000 unit. Interestingly, he used a different screen name on my platform: Gdmetals
