Pimento is exacting/correct.
TNSS....... good demo. Yes...... notice the ID of the straight wire is a ID of '1' (sometimes may bounce to a ID of '2'). Which leads me to say........ some detectors have the extreme low non-ferrous conductor targets report as a iron-tone.........due to hot-rocks ID'ing in the exact same range. For Example: On the Manticore........hot-roc

Gosh. I wished I was there.......and could see/play/adjust....... to see/ID the problem. I'm quite certain that Manticore should do (at least) as well.
Is the wire "copper"? Or "aluminum"?
I wonder if it ID's as a '1' or a '2'....... which may be being Disc'd out as a hot-rock.

Kingfish........ that would be a VERY "value-added" video!......especially coming from calabash. . . . . and the methodology unto which he tests and shoots videos.

I've been offline for over a week......out-of-Country. Slow to respond!
In addition to information already given.............. rain can 'alter' how surrounding powerlines emit. In my locale....... rain washes off salt coatings that collect on powerlines........ 'changing' how they generate EMI. Usually for-the-better.

Having the X-Terra Pro on its absolute maximum recovery speed......restricts its genuine depth performance. BUT....... it really makes a statement on its level of performance.

Understood! I (too) think a large Half-Dollar is a novelty/........musing. , . , . , . , . , mostly because: If you look at the VOLUME of Dimes found/dug.............VS............the VOLUME of Half Dollars found.................,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,........................you will see a very imbalanced ratio. A test-garden with a 10" & 10.5" & 11.5" deep Dime ..... is MUCH

Mike......... there are 'cut' square-nails.........and there are 'hammered' square-nails. Big difference...... including age/era!
Higher Recovery Speeds. In bad dirt (up to a certain point........dependent upon mineralization: TYPE and INTENSITY).......can enhance ID performance.
Lower Recovery Speeds. In low/no mineralization ....... will give greater depth & ID perfo

I hear it TOO many times........ and it bothers me:
""Drop Sensitivity down...... tune this/that down.......and lower this. You will still have "plenty" of performance"".
To me...... the word "plenty" means: Accepting mediocrity ..... less than peak-performance = (less-than optimal).

Once the plug 'wicks'........ the plug will have a film of saltwater on it. Then..................... the next time the plug gets hit with saltwater........ even only the rubber/insulation part of the plug....... it is still "saltwater electrically connected" to the metal part of the 1/8" stereojack........ and you may incur audio squawking. I seem to recall having this w

David....... again....,,,,,,......a VERY good video demonstration of the 5 units. Actually............. BEST video yet; on the comparison/performance of the Tarsacci. In fact.......... this video should be posted on the Tarsacci thread. David........ do you have the time to do this?
I did NOT catch what Freq the guy was using on the Tarsacci. (This is important.....for bad dirt).
I am EXTREME

Bob......... I just want to clarify:
Is it when the saltwater touches the 1/8" stereo plug (wired headphones) that enter (plugged into) the control pod........ that the unit will then give a audio response?
Or......... is it somewhere in the middle of the headphone wire/cable........half-way up the wire/cable...,,,,when the detector gives a audio response?

UKD2....... Correct! And................ without infringing upon confidential stuff......... the "50% More Power" is: "Marketing Words" (you could say: Marketing jargon/hype)....,,,,,,......yet, there is 'some' validity in the statement. I (myself) may even say: 50% more power.......for the purpose of: novice-to-novice better understanding. BUT/WHEN......... in actua

Mike.......... The higher the Recovery Speed....... the faster the AUDIO reset of a target. Also......... the shorter the audio response of any target. There is indeed moderate improvement using a higher Recovery Speed in trashy areas; yet, many times........ a slower Recovery Speed in concert with a slower coil sweep-speed........ will give really good separation AND better (overall) depth.

Jim....... if you are referring to Beach Seawater Mode......and IN THE WATER hunting......... I would recommend setting Ferrous Limits Upper = 9, Lower = 4
You can (later) push these numbers lower...... after some skillset building.

kwalenciak.......... In an air-test..... the Manticore wins.....over the Excal.....whilst in Seawater Mode.
BUT....... IN the water....... fairly heavy East Coast waves preclude me from valid testing; yet, I'm certain the Manticore would come out ahead.
West Coast Florida hunters would be better able/suited to answer this question.

Update. For those of whom can only 'view' this forum........(but not register/post)....... Wally (web-master) & I are in belief that it is a "Phorum" SECURITY issue...........and will try to have this resolved...... in about a week.
Google Chrome (for now) seems to work the best. BUT....... that still does not fix the issue!

Mike......... that is correct. In a nutshell.......what I am trying to say is: For the amount of additional 'falsing' (by lowering Ferrous Limits)...... you gain an even higher rate-of-return in unmasking ability.
Mike......... you're going to get a kick out of going over the exact same area with your unit..........especially when your Ferrous Limits are a few points lower. Yes...
