Adding my two cents to this dated thread seems relevant as I was worried about buying this “dated” DVD, with possible dated information, and add in the fact that there is only one way for me to watch this at home, my son’s Xbox, which ment getting two hours to myself, a challenge. My thought process of, should I or shouldn’t I, was quickly not a factor once I looked at the value of this forum ove

I'm looking for advice on Coin Identification Books. I like what I've read about, "The Whitman Encyclopedia of Colonial and Early American Coins" book and have seen two used copies up for sale(book seems hard to find at the moment).. My question is, is this book the best in terms of Colonial history or can I get away with one of the Red Mega books, which seem to be in surplus?

I’m confused with the “wireless ready”. Will I be able to use my own wireless head phones at the 299$ price point or will I need to opt for the 399$ to have wireless capabilities?

From a quick google search, rumors are a low end budget to compete with the ACE and future simplex.. Info could be totally wrong, I don’t normally visit the other sites, maybe someone else can chime in.

I bumped this in March of 2017, so why not once more here in March of 2019. Me, with so few posts, I guess I found my calling/purpose in life..
With that said, I’m sure we would welcome “again” for Tom to revisit his list(if allowed to do so).
Though this time maybe he waits until the new Fisher is on the market and in his hands, as this might be another turning point..
Anyway, no pressure,

Good, cause after looking at a 920 stealth with carbon, my heart skipped a beat.
What I will do is scour this forum and the internet for golden nuggets on PI.
While we wait for the fisher machine, I might as well become educated.

Thank you for this thread, I’m excited to wrap my head around this (new to me) technology. I have nothing to add other then a hopeful bump to spark more conversation.
I am wondering, in meantime, if I should invest in an older PI to learn it’s characteristics.

Is it possible for you to have two channels, one for each hobby? Seeing fishing come up in my subscriptions is a turn off. It’s just a suggestion, at end of the day it’s your content and you can do as you please.

Just wanted to give an update.
I was set on the 600 cause of price but picked up the 800 during a cyber Monday steal.
I’m pretty excited and maybe I won’t wait for spring to hit the beach.
Need a good scoop now
Thank you all for the insights and once it’s delivered I’m sure I’ll reread through some of the tips in this thread.

Thanks folks. I’m looking forward to this spring and my new location near beaches. With 15% off for vets, I believe this is the wise route to go. The only thing that might sway me is if the manta comes out soon before spring and hits a home run. But still I’ll have to weigh the price differences.
I have two red racers that probably wouldn’t catch much value these days.. might as well keep em.

Most of my hunting will be on sand and in salt water. I’m leaning towards the 600 but would like to know if the 800 would be worth the extra money ?

Thanks rick, ID’ing bottle caps will be important, even though my son has already nicknamed us, “the bottle cap hunters”.
I’m liking the price point of the 600, complete waterproof and mentioned on another forum that ML gives 15% off for military.
plenty of time to save for spring and who knows maybe the manta will be available.

Recently moved to the shoreline, looking to do mostly beach detecting come spring. Currently have only the red racer.
What detectors should I look at that can do well on the beaches of New England?
I’m very intrigued with the up coming Fisher Manta and the MDT8k but cost might be an issue
Thanks in advance for suggestions.
