I would like to know if he is considering a bad dirt centered detector anytime soon? I think the tarsacci was more beach driven, but that could be incorrect thinking on my part

I'm interested, I read every post even though I have absolutely zero interest in buying d2. I still feel like the thought process of learning a detector helps me in understanding what's happening when I do get to go

Tom thanks for all of your info and research into different detectors and taking the time to inform us of your findings. I'm going to ask a question that may be a little premature but is for me and my area of hunting the main one. If you had to pick a non pulse detector for 3 to 5 bar dirt old house sites which one would it be? Should the manticore be top for that?

Thanks Tom for all your help. Next time I go out I will see what sens I can run. And yes that would be nice to see if the tarsacci could cut through my dirt

This is also why out of all detectors out there the tarsacci interests me the most if and when I have the funds for purchasing. It seems it is my best bet for my ground

Nope guaranteed no under ground power lines was virgin woods for at least 80 years minimum before building my house. Basically all of my sites are rural with no real development nearby. I'm thinking I may go for a sensitivity around 18 to 20 and see what recovery speed has moderate ground feed back

Tom I played with settings on my equinox today for a few minutes at my house found it interesting. To get the machine to not react to ground feedback I found that to run a recovery of 5 I had to run the sensitivity at 15. To run a recovery of 4 I had to go to 13 sensitivity. I will see tomorrow what I have to do to run recovery at 3. So now do you think it's worth the reduction in power to h

Thanks Tom this is helping me a ton. So next thing I wonder is in your opinion what gets sacrificed first for stability? Recovery speed or sensitivity?

That's exactly what I encounter here where I hunt but I have just been dealing with the noise. Will having the machine set like that possibly mask good targets? Or will the audio still tell you good target from bad through the noise?

Tom when you say you had to change the trr to 5 for the hot Georgia dirt how was the machine behaving with the lower trr speed? Was it constant ground feed back of -7s and -8s with the horseshoe button pushed?

Agreed don't think it would take much to do. And would definitely encourage me into buying, would simplify for me. I now take a borrowed t2 with me to new spots just to check ground mineralization then hunt with other detectors. Would lighten the load so to speak

In my opinion the depth meter is useless I never even look at them but I know a lot of people use them. Maybe make it where it's a toggle function either depth or ground mineral depending on what you want

Tom right now of any detector out there including all the new ones the tarsacci is the one I would buy if I was able to buy one right now. Bad dirt is the one thing I'm not seeing talked about with the new detectors coming out and it is at the top of my list in importance

Tom I love it when I see you have made a long post I know I'm getting ready to learn something! I know you have covered it in many other threads but when you are testing channels for EMI are you solely using a dime in a air test to see depth differences? When checking for how high you can take sensitivity are you using the same technique or are you going by audible interference also? My dirt

Bad dirt is now my only concern for new detectors coming out. Hunt some places that are 4 and even 5 bar dirt some of that is due to fertilizer from the farmers some just high mineral dirt, so until I see any of the new machines shining in that setting I'm leaning toward tarsacci

I don't understand people's surprise. It's the same as every other market, when the first automobile came with windshield wipers or electric windows and locks or climate control others copied it. When the first flat screen tv came out others copied it. When apple made the smart phone others copied it. Why because it worked and people liked it. The nox is a extremely popular detecto

Ghound doesn't like there products and thinks they are pimped by sponsored people. Him and nokta have went round and round before its not the first time they have had threads like this. If he doesn't like them and don't think they work good in his dirt fine and dandy. But just realize that the one and only reason to start a thread saying the hype has started was to get a reaction f

And as far as I am concerned and I think there are others like me I do not have a Facebook account and will NEVER have one. So once the regular forum sites shutdown I'm done with reading about detecting. And I like pictures and videos of great finds but they don't do squat for helping me learn to detect better or help me learn how to research spots better. So I for one love the informat

Tom your posts are the main reason I check this forum everyday. Your technical break down thought process of detectors is invaluable. I don't really have anything to add to the posts usually they are above my pay grade so to speak but they help me understand what's going on with what I'm swinging. So don't ever feel as if your posts aren't appreciated, people just may not

Finally something close! But a word of warning camp jeep lock in music festivals and other stuff is held at that location so even though there has to be really good stuff there with its history, there's gonna be a TON of modern trash to wade through to get it. In my opinion
