Hey j.t.
I have some correspondence with one of the guys showing the t2 se in a elevated nail test. He says his se version is a 2016 model. My classic is a 12/16 model. He also has a new t2 se coming tomorrow and I will likely order one as well. I'll let you know how things go. I will say I didnt have emi issues with the classic. If you haven't looked at the newer se version you might

Thanks for the thread. Briefly read over it and will read again. Seems to be advocating small coil use in trashy sites. I am using small coils in trashy sites. Let's only look at the t2 classic as my example. I have a 5" coil and a sharpshooter coil that I use on the t2 in trashy sites. But, I have tried the elevated nail test where two nails are about 1 1/2" above let's say a

I have a question about seperation of ferrous/non ferrous targets. I have a etrac, a cz6a, a Yukon 77b and a t2 classic. Various coils for each (except the 77b). Now I know the etrac and cz are not the machine most people are going to grab to go hunt in the iron. The t2 classic edges the cz in most seperation tests I've done. Let's take the 77b out of the equation because we all know w

Thanks guys for taking the time to respond. I have'nt read the manuals of either but thought they seemed very simular. Good to know about the coil selection. Have'nt held either machine. The ctx looks to be better balanced. Just how heavy are the machines say compared to a cz? I have the t2 and a cz, and I like both. But they are somewhat limited to manipulation due to site conditions.

Recently purchased a new (12/16) t2 classic. Got the nel sharpshooter coil. Like what I see so for. Looking at getting a good coin machine and the e trac and ctx interest me but I am concerned that they will struggle (with depth) in my ground. Fe 3-4 bars (some 5 bars) and G.C. phase is 65-75 and some areas up to 85. Anybody using/used these machines in ground like this? Do they fare well or sh

Thanks for the report Keith. The Impact has some intriguing features. It will be fun to see how things unfold over the coming weeks and months for the Impact and (potential) offerings from other manufacturers. I just purchased a t2 Classic (12/16) last week and sharpshooter coil should be here tomorrow. So, I will be following things for a while and see how it all shakes out. But, sounds like in

Bought a new 5" coil for the cz6a. I went to a local park for a couple of hours today to see what it would do. Some areas pretty trashy. I think it did pretty well. (4) quarters, (3) dimes, (3) nickles, (12) pennies. All clad with one wheat. Deepest coin was 6" dime which was loud and clear. Id's were on par with the stock 8" coil which is good. No complaints here.

Thanks to all who responded. I will likely pick up a 5" coil. I have heard they are hit or miss to get a good one. The cz will then have all the options available, (I believe), even the plug in external speaker. Still, I will get another detector that may offer some options in sites that challenge the cz.

Thanks Keith. I'm not able to say I hunt coins or relics or jewelry. I can only say, I hunt civil war sites when I can. Just not often due to 100 + miles of travel. I hunt mostly the old home sites for whatever the site gives ( horse tack, buttons, the occasional coin, etc..) . I am not a clad or jewelry hunter, however I will hit a old school or park if I have only a hour or so to hunt. Ma

I have a Tom tuned and 3d altered cz6a that I am very happy with but would like a detector that will handle separation and deep iron nails better. I have read many posts on all brand forums and watched too many youtube videos trying to narrow the field. I hunt mostly old homesites. As you know, that doesn't mean that a home site say from the 1800's will not have been occupied in the lat
