OK, Cal. Not sure what it has to do with the OP, but when I have enough posts to make my opinions valid (to you), let me know.

"To clear it up I don't make any money selling detectors." Maybe not, but do you make "any money" from your YouTube channel? I'm guessing a lot of thought went into that "catchy" video subject/ title. Probably getting pretty tough to come up with something new, that hasn't already been beat to death.

As long as Kellyco doesn't charge our credit cards when we pre order, what is the urgency? I'm sure the Impact is not the first or only detector, most of us have/will have, and we can stay busy while we wait, using the last new machine we so eagerly anticipated. I remember having these feelings/thoughts as a child around Christmas time, but as an adult, I have learned to be patient and

Sandman, Sorry for your loss. Also sorry I never saw the lost threads. They sound interesting . Don't mean to ask a stupid question, but were the lost threads the ONLY copy of all your data, or is the work of re posting the problem?

Rig looks great. I'm assuming you have to haul it on trailer or truck to the general detecting area, as most of have to use the highways to get to our detecting sites,

"I've heard this line of reasoning before and was inclined to believe it until I recently bought a lithium battery pack for my Etrac. I took the lithium powered Etrac to a hunted out park that I have pounded dozens of times over the years with NiMH in the Etrac. Over the course of four days in a single week, hunting no more than two hours each day, I dug seven silver coins. I was in stu

Just read "Detectorist" woes about digging in hard ground. Well,......... I'm digging in the sand this week, and it's breaking my back. Not really. The digging is easy, of course, but only got two hits in an hour, yesterday: a lead fishing sinker, and one severely corroded Lincoln. This section of beach, in front of our cottage, at Kitty Hawk, NC, has never been very productiv

Great story. The neat thing about class rings is that you have a chance of finding the owner. Must be a really rewarding feeling. I found a diamond engagement ring in the surf at Nags Head a few years back, but no chance of finding that owner. The style reminded me of my mother's ring, who was 85 at the time, so I'm assuming that the lady who lost it had warn it for many, many years. O

A bad game of golf forces you to buy new clubs, as you have just chucked your clubs into the nearest pond!

Same can be said with detecting to---if you've just wrapped your detector around the nearest tree!winking smiley

It's interesting to me, how the testers can take the current test subject to their favorite site, "that's been pounded for years," presumably by all the other great, prior test units, and still pull out more "goodies." Seems like the last unit they tested their, would have finally cleaned the site out. Another common theme in tests, is that the the test unit usually

My water (surf) hunting is limited to once or twice a year, usually in the fall, when we go to the outer banks of N.C. Wish we lived closer. Never tried fresh water hunting, although I did buy Tom's "Beach & Swimming Hole Hunting" DVD several years ago. A very informative, and well done video, BTW. Well worth the money!
