as i said before, all detectorists end up hunting in one or two specific niches,.......beach hunter, relic hunter, jewelry, coins, etc: and many have more than one tool/machine to meet their specific type of hunting needs!

hey tom, how big is your garage? i can perform all types of soldering, calibrate and fine tune using o-scopes, freq counters etc: i have some great ideas for a new machine but dont have the money to make anything a reality.
seems to me that the big 5 are being outdone by newcomers that are not afraid to think outside the box/break the rules!!!!!

last i heard it will cost around 380.00 for the conversion! yes, they can/will change the 8' coil to a 10.5. not a bad deal in my opinion, repair without conversion would have cost around 150.00. you will also get a waranty! going to the 10.5' coil is well worth it.
check all connections and including battery terminals before calling fisher. tell them what happened, they have done gr

have you tried hunting in the water, lakes and reservoir beaches? easiest form of hunting i would think? i really miss the calm easy to hunt lakes back in ohio!!!!!!!

garrett and minelab both have machines out now that are heavy, bulky, and have horrible ergonomics!(ctx3030 and the atx) supposedly rugged and built tough. neither are hip mountable or customizable in any way. the ctx is about $2,500.00 and is having a multitude of problems in the field from leaking, cams on the shaft locking up, the shaft wearing thin in spots and the armcuffs falling off/breaki
