I think you're going in the right direction with the Security Certificate.
I would be happy to be your assistant in research if this doesn't work. I don't need any admin credentials or passwords. Just PM me if you have a question. I love researching things if I don't know the answer off the top of my head. Knowledge is power and that is the VERY reason I come to NASA Tom

The problem I think everyone is having is, we enter the site using https, but the login page is http, which means our credentials are sent in plain text...not encrypted. All modern browsers alert you about this misconfiguration.
I just noticed this when logging in. After you enter username and password and click submit, that's where the snag is. It's plain old http. Same thing is hap

My civic war camp in Arkansas, you're doing good if you find a 3 ringer past 6" to 7" with an Equinox 800. Past that they just ID's as iron no matter how you set the detector up. I'm still not sure if it's bad ground, heavily fertilized soil or both.
So we dig everything... especially the deep iron signals.

I have a group of hunting buddies and quite frequently we take off for a three or four day road trip. We've been all over Texas, Louisiana Oklahoma and Arkansas treasure hunting. The soil conditions vary and sometimes it takes a bit to get setup properly. Correct recovery speed, sensitivity and program....higher weighted frequency or lower.
Would the FE304 help give clues as to what'

To me, since the Manticore is on the bleeding edge of iron bias with it's upper and lower ferrous limits (FE2 negative

Thanks again guys. I live in North Texas and primarily hunt around here. For the most part I assume my soil is relatively mild, however I have hunted several sites a county or two away where I'm forced to run sensitivity around 17 or 18...sometimes as low as 15 on my 800.
I have a spot in Arkansas that seems like hot soil, but that may be fertilizer that disturbed the soil chemistry. I wil

Thanks guys!
Is there any specific type or soil category I'm looking for? I've found some with conductivity and metals, but they don't correlate to known areas I know for sure has hot soil.

Tom,
Are there any online resources to find soil surveys done in the US that could clue us in as to what kind of soil we are hunting in?
I've searched and searched. Maybe I'm using the wrong words in the search engine. I've found several maps, but not sure what I'm looking at.

I have to say, I'm a little upset by the way Minelab handled the Manticore launch.
Cabela's was NOT what allowed them to rise to the success they've had. It's always been the hobbyist that went to our local dealers.
This alone puts a bad taste in my mouth. For this reason, I'm spending my $1600 on a Deus 2.

Steve,
Remember this from NASA Tom
"From the very start..... The Equinox was to be a: mid-line/mid-priced unit.
From the very start..... The Manitcore is to be a medium-high line//medium-high priced unit."
The feature you're talking about might just be for the Minelab Ultimate...the CTX 3030 replacement.

Like others, he has issues logging in to the forum from his home PC. I think he has to use his work PC to post here.

I don't notice any user errors in his Manticore videos. Numerous times, in almost every Manticore video he's uploaded, he clearly states it's a new machine and it will take time to figure out what it's telling him. Everyone has to put time in on a new machine.
I don't think he's coming here asking Tom for a setting that will get rid of iron falsing. Everyone here

I think he's very well experienced with hunting in iron. Have you watched his videos? Some of his sites are VERY old with layers of carpets of nails.
Let's start with what Tom recommended and see if some of the falsing can be mitigated.

Calabash,
I'm glad you brought settings up because I wanted to ask in the YouTube comments, but you've disabled them.
So...what were your settings?

One step further than the CTX. Not a ferrous / non ferrous average algorithm.
A near, real-time spectrogram of the high resolution audio. A spectrum of frequencies of a signal as it varies with time. Plot the audio in 3D... real-time waterfall.
Think of it as Morse Code. Dots and dashes on the display corresponding to the roll/warble of 50+ tones.
Maybe we need 99+ tones for this to work.

The technical aspect of this forum is the very reason I come here.
It's been a couple of years since I've logged in to post a comment, I usually just read the the stuff everyone posts. There is a ton of knowledge here and that sets this forum apart from other forums.
NASA Tom's posts have really stimulated the nerd part of my brain as well as many others.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone too.
After we pig out tomorrow, my girlfriend and I plan to hit an old spot in town that has some heavy erosion after good rains. It's been several months since we've been there and we've had lots of rain.
Marbles, buttons everywhere. Plus the occasional coin and a chance to find an arrowhead.
