Calabash,
I'm glad you brought settings up because I wanted to ask in the YouTube comments, but you've disabled them.
So...what were your settings?

One step further than the CTX. Not a ferrous / non ferrous average algorithm.
A near, real-time spectrogram of the high resolution audio. A spectrum of frequencies of a signal as it varies with time. Plot the audio in 3D... real-time waterfall.
Think of it as Morse Code. Dots and dashes on the display corresponding to the roll/warble of 50+ tones.
Maybe we need 99+ tones for this to work.

The technical aspect of this forum is the very reason I come here.
It's been a couple of years since I've logged in to post a comment, I usually just read the the stuff everyone posts. There is a ton of knowledge here and that sets this forum apart from other forums.
NASA Tom's posts have really stimulated the nerd part of my brain as well as many others.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone too.
After we pig out tomorrow, my girlfriend and I plan to hit an old spot in town that has some heavy erosion after good rains. It's been several months since we've been there and we've had lots of rain.
Marbles, buttons everywhere. Plus the occasional coin and a chance to find an arrowhead.

You're at an old home place that's loaded up with
square nails, rusty tin can tops, pieces of rusty tin and all different size pieces of iron and you
want to find all the non-ferrous targets at that site. Which detector do you think would do the best job and why?

That's interesting.
What would you say your "trash to treasure" (coins) percentage is? Not trying to be critical

You made a good point.

One more thing, I was a lurker on this forum for years. I've posted maybe a dozen times on a couple of other forums over the years. I share 95% of my finds with my old hunting buddies or a club.
I'm one of those people that don't like the direction the internet has taken. What you say on the internet is there forever, even if you go back and delete it. Even if you type something o

It's hard to beat any Tesoro with a small coil in heavy trash. I have gone to sites club members pouned to death with the the latest and greatest machines. I even got laughed at once because supposedly this late 1800's scraped homesite was "hunted out" with hundreds of dig holes everywhere. I was "wasting my time."
After about 30 minutes, I amazed a few when I pull

I back off until the chatter goes away on air tests. My friend with the exact setup barely hits 6".

New forum member here. I just wanted to introduce myself.
I got interested in detecting when I was 7. My grandmother had just bought a Whites Coinmaster 5000/D TR G.E.B. We would go out into the woods near Longview Texas and I was her digger. I can't remember anything specific we dug, but at 7, an old rusty can was a treasure to me.
That next Christmas I got an orange Radio Shack detecto
