Another thing for your consideration... the cost of health care and medications.
My wife in her wisdom (stubbornness), after taking a new job, enrolled us in an insurance policy that costs about 20% of her pay. At the time I told her that I thought it to not be the best choice as we were both healthy and strong. at 60 years old I was as strong as I had ever been. Then one day and just as fast,

depends on your negotiations of the trade...were there pictures or a description of the taped arm cuff and coil sent or did in any way you say it was a perfect older, used detector?...both would have been in my mind before trading....or also if you said that if he wasn't happy he could just send it back...but with that time would be of the essence.
Other than that a deal is a deal.

IRS aside...If that was found here, in NY, it would all be taken by the state, as all gold found on land within the state's borders belongs to the state...imagine that.

I bought a simplex+ to use as a water detector...with the exception of about 20 hours on land...I use it only in the water...it is a capable detector (both in the water and on land) and for the price, a very good buy...I have steered a few new detectorists toward the simplex because of the price vs performance... To make it a real water detector , though , I needed to buy the carbon fiber lower s

I purposely made the statement which included "sour taste" a general one, as to describe things I avoid watching. But to include Nokta in that statement would be for the reason that it was the third time that quickly came to mind where Nokta either down-plaid the intelligence of the end-user or an opinion of an end-user that differed from what Nokta wanted to hear or portray.

Dear Daniel,
I consider you part of "the people" and a "human with feelings". Although we are indeed social animals, we haven't yet become the BORG (assimilate or be destroyed) and as such your right to expression is every bit as valid as any other. I too agree that if a product is good, it will stand on its own. I also agree that you have the simple choice to not watch

This post woke me from my sleep last night with some possible incites as to my detecting experiences so far ... and a few questions...the percentage graph is seemingly very similar to the valleys I hunt around me and would help to explain some of the reasoning for the coin dates I've dug so far. Dates on the coins are not much earlier than, and seem to drop off in, the mid-1800s ... even tho

Thanks Tom ...for both the incite and words of wisdom...it helps a lot in making my decision and what direction I want to take this hobby to, both differ from my thoughts of yesterday.
It is my belief that in this "short" time we have here it is best to leave with no regrets. If one can do that, they have truly done things right.

I have been wondering just where the Tarsacci fits in with all the new detectors...and also why it hasn't been included in the comparison videos...as soon as my health treatments are done, I'm in for buying a new detector and would like to see that heads-up comparison.

Tom, for the most part you are spot on...I knew what you were saying and wasn't going to post anything...until...you brought up honey...a major and enjoyable part of my daily diet for many years...now a 'no-no' until treatment ends (along with sushi)...unless I want to eat the pasteurized honey, which isn't the same thing or even much more than raw sugar..."raw" hone

cancer here being a generic usage of the word...and excludes some/many forms...tomorrow will be my second round of chemo for lymphoma/leukemia...caused, most likely from my landscaper days with the usage of round-up, back in my 20s or some other similar long term chemical exposure that I am unaware of...nothing to do with lifestyle, diet, exercise or the like...just doing my job when I was younge

In the first video, I would have liked you to show how far away from the target both machines are when they stopped reporting the target using the same settings you showed ... why stop at 5 1/2 inches??
I have never hunted in anything other than full volume. Why and where would someone hunt with their volume turned way down? ... help me to understand.

this is a very interesting topic ... thanks
Two summers ago, here in NY we received zero rain for the whole summer ... the grass dried and most of the areas that were once grass lawns became dirt ... I had asked a few others of my observation that my detector works better in dry dirt than wet ... this was due to the fact of finding very deep fatty indians and shield nickels, along with some old

I will venture a guess that this forum is solely responsible for cutting my learning curve by at least half .. every question I've had is answered somewhere here in print .. I find it much easier, more thought provoking and satisfying to understand and explore, or weed through the 'geekyness' than the "he said this" found elsewhere on the interweb

Understandably ... with all of Aaron's work seemingly and suddenly MIA, and Relics 1864 lack of new videos .. there is a void to fill with such a 'cook book' ... but with the amount of new videos of the D2, mostly compared to a less expensive machine .. I wonder why we haven't seen the best bang for the buck, heads up, knock down, drag out comparison video of the two same pric

being a relative newbie my questions were never 'what are your settings?' .. but, 'why are your settings what they are' .. more of my answers came from experimenting than from someone else ..it may be a shared starting point but, a crap shoot to think any adjustment would be the same number for somewhere else besides where I'm hunting. .. if a machine only runs best at on

I have a leather sheath that holds my hand digger and my pin pointer ... there is a D-ring on the sheath if you want to tether the pin pointer, I've never used it though ... I'm sure someone has lost a pin pointer before, but you really only need to keep track of a few tools while out hunting ... hard to imagine the things that could lead up to that loss .. though I watched a utube vide

I watched a lot of the videos released yesterday .. I was curious as to why after the grand announcement of the release of the legend, every video made the point that this detector is a prototype .. so it may or may not be what we are getting .. this at least in my thought process, makes those videos meaningless.... show me what I can buy ..I'll wait until they are ready.

my guess is that it would be mostly site specific .. with that, the places where Aluminum is the culprit, I usually dig it because it hits so similar to something that could be a good target ... where as many times iron is discriminated out and you wouldn't hear what you are missing...and if you don't discriminate it out and you do hear it, you just keep going assuming it is just a iron
