The 5 inch DD coil is a must have. Pics items out of iron like a laser. Gets in tight areas larger coils cant. It will gain your appreciation for sure if you hunt areas with lots of nails/iron.

XP Deus. Coins, Relics, has a kit for water hunting and the proposed high frequency coils and programs for nugget hunting.
The perfect machine will be a lightweight Pulse/VLF machine that's waterproof like a diving machine. How long till we have this?

I don't have any trouble with the camo Garrett pouch. Only cost me $10 and is holding up nicely. Pinpointer clips to the outside and I keep an Altoids tin with tissue paper inside for more delicate finds.

I buy the nitrile coated gloves at Walmart. Dexterity is still pretty good and after a hunt I don't pig pen everything up with dirty hand prints.

Nice recoveries. Going over a spot with a 5 inch coil after only searching it with larger stock coils has always got me a few more keepers.

I'm hoping for better, more affordable PI machines for deep relic hunting. Currently, I'm pretty happy with what is out now as far as VLF machines go.

I find the depth of the FA mode on my upgraded F75 to go pretty deep still. Just have to listen for the quick audio clips. 1n tone option helps too.
Low and mid priced machines have really improved in performance the past couple of years. $500 for a brand new F75 with the options that it has now is a sweet deal.

Deepest coins I have ever dug where with the Omega 8000 and Ultimate coil. I remember thinking I must have a can in the hole because it was too deep to be a coin and it ended up being a Wheat Penny. It's a deep seeker for sure.

For me it was the Blisstool. I could get it to do well on buried targets but never in the field. Too many nails and nothing deep that a different detector could have gotten me much easier. I was pretty happy when I sold it. I've got a bunch of detectors with love/hate relationships. No perfect machine.

New England states have such awesome history. Finding that many GW buttons is some next level stuff though. Talk about a good spot. I remember that post when it was new.

13 inch Detech Ultimate coil. You can buy them new from Kellyco. If you can rarely get your gain above 70 then you might not want one. The larger coil will be even more prone to EMI. The Omega goes in to a higher gain right around sens setting of 70. When looking for deeper coins than its higher the better for me. Might have to work in the noise, especially when you set the machine down or

Omega doesn't have trouble snagging deep coins. If you can run the sens high enough that is. Ultimate coil adds depth to this machine, no question.

Discovering, researching, and trying out a new detector every couple months is one of the things that makes this hobby fun. If you're looking to have the latest and greatest, this hobby will keep you coming back again and again. This is how it is with any electronic gadget. It doesn't take much to go out and metal detect, but if you want to go further, farther, faster, deeper and kee

Thanks everyone. I think I'm going to look for a good price on a set of Grey Ghost Ultimates. I like the single knob for volume and it sounds like the limiter switch isn't a gimmick.
