Those that learned the language of the 1266 excelled...just gave me a headache but balance and ergonomics were good.
1270 was terrible balance and ergonomics....poor remake of 1266 but had feature to help with iron....

Sort of like a tuneup for your car....usually adds some depth that varies depending on your unit...over the years have heard of good results from varied detectorists...come to think of it never read of bad results....which ought to tell you something....

Down and dirty if you can't pinpoint a CZ time to take up knitting...These units worked well on units tough to pinpoint however...added weight and added bulk and clumsy at best.

Don't remember its been so long since I used one...Really got me some deep silver equal to CZ's but called every rusty bottlecap a coin and even their poster boy couldn't tell me how to tell the difference so long gone...hope you can tell the difference as nice unit with a main problem...

Here is a good nail tip...if you dig a plug on a deep one and the pinpoint seems to move its a darn rusty nail on the edge of the plug...can really cut down on nails dug...

Many think the CZ model is a nail grabber but with time and use you can eliminate many of the nails but a real deep one can fool anyone...Again read Mikes CZ page as any tips and after a while you will not dig many nails. Am sure we all have our way to use this unit but time in the field and experimentation its surely coil for coil one of the deepest units..

Having used every CZ model ever made(some more than once) I like to run the sens. as high as I can even if I get some falses now and then ..all depends on your location..
Tom sure knows CZ's so he offers good advice.
Be sure to visit Mikes CZ page(bible) for CZ users.

Duals hobbies recommended as hobby could get old having so much time to hunt.
Get a good buddy(not easy) as local spots dry up and travel can get costly and buddy could share expenses and perhaps learn a bit from each other.
Use different unit than buddy as interferences can be there even if not noticed..
Join a club and become a working member.
Buy good equipment before retirement as

Retired in early 90's after 30 yrs with Pa.State Police and that's when I started detecting...been a good 25 yrs plus swinging but personal problems with my wifes health have left me little time to detect as caregivers hours are long...always next year one hopes...
