Thanks Calabash,
just got a Rutus myself and haven't had a chance to get out with it yet.
What I see in your video is right encouraging.
Can't wait to see some in field video and live digs.
Cheers,
Drew.

Hi Cal,
Mine is a couple years old now 2016 vintage, batts may be LiPo now, don't know. Mine came with and uses 4 AA batts.
As to weight Relic is built on the FORS platform, an older gen machine, totally different design to Kruzer series.
Cheers,
Drew.

Hi Calabash,
3.9 lbs. per the specs, with the stock coil and 4 AA batteries.
Unit definitely feels lighter than that due to very good weight distribution / balance.

All things being equal I would much rather have a detector company aggressively develop and launch new products than wait years and years to get a new machine released.
Still enjoying my FORS Relic that I bought several years ago after reading Keith and Monte's posts, and I continue watching what is being released with great interest.
If the unit you have is bringing in good finds you have

Nice digs, the F/R is a different unit to be sure, I have only a couple of short hunts in with mine but definitely liking what I have seen so far.
F/R will also hit on truly tiny objects, so small they are hard to find even with pin-pointer sounding off. Unit loves low and mid conductors, thinking it may even do well with micro jewelry...

Thanks Tom,
Feature wise the Racer 2 and Relic seem pretty equally matched. I am researching old fur trade and steam navigation routes and sites this year and am looking to 4 wheel and hike into sites that I hope are very clean of "modern" trash items.
I do have a couple of machines that are what I consider coins and park hunting units and have never had a relic specific detector befo

Hi All,
Frequent lurker, infrequent poster.
Just jumped on the Nok-Mak train and ordered a FORS relic after following Keith and Monte's, and others posts for the past quite awhile. (By the way, thanks guys for all your work and the great info and videos; and thanks to Tom of course for this great forum!)
I came to that decision after much debate with myself over whether to go with the

I traded an X-Terra for an Omega and find it to be hot on the foil and aluminum range targets, and "OK" on coins. I also have an EX-2 and E-Trac and if you are specifically an old coin type hunter I think the FBS machines for silver are pretty hard to beat.
Maybe, if you can swing it, get an Explorer or E-Trac used, and keep the Omega for jewelry and faster hunting when you want to cov

Had a severe back injury in 98' but with active physiotherapy, read exercise, been OK since with only minor aches and I am an Arborist doing heavy tree work so my back takes a beating. The walking during detecting helps keep the low back loose too!
Try to find a good physio, and good luck to you.

Thanks Dan & Rover,
Took it out today but have a feeling I won't click with it as the tones I am used to from CZ just won't gel with the Coin$strike audio.
Kind of sad because I bet if the tone system was set up to be the same as CZ-70 4 tone system more CZ users would have warmed up to them and it may have been a more successful unit for Fisher.
Just a thought.

Re: EMI - 14 years ago
Hi Lawrenzo,
I had/have hunted in a couple of high EMI sites and as Trond said the small coils help a great deal. In one park I went from DE Mode SENS 45 to JE mode SENS 80 by switching from the stock 11"coil to the 5" DD. I my local park which isn't too bad I was able to run JE maxed out with the small football on the rod.
Worth a try.

Excellent Ideas! It really helps to have a number of examples in the planning phase. I am thinking that I may build a double test garden with desirable targets in clean soil at a variety of depths from shallow to wishful, and a separate hazard garden with different masking scenarios, and target separation.
I think a well thought out test garden can be a virtual laboratory.

Hi Streak,
What a great post! That is exactly the kind of detail I was looking for!
I like to collect information and come up with a solid plan before I start a project. I like the plastic stake markers and the log book of what and when was planted. Since I don't have a PI unit yet I will go over the plot with a few different units wide open and in AM mode to clean it up as best I can.

Hi Guys,
I have been detecting for ten years and have not put in a test garden as yet so I figure I am way overdue.
Do any of you have any advice on target selection and depth, and seperation of trash to good targets for the hazard portion?
I was figuring to use clad and silver coins, a couple of rings, (gold and silver), and some common trash items, (various tabs, rusty bottlecaps, rusty na

Thank you for the reply Tom.
I was thinking that digging the majority of deeper 4th tone CZ-70 signals would likely archive similar results as using the 3D in enhanced mode but wanted some opinions from people who had used the 3D. I am awaiting delivery of a 10" and 5" F75 coil at present and after receiving them I am using the F75 only for June and July to learn it better. I will be d

Hi All,
I currently own a Fisher Cz-70 pro, and Coin$trike, as well as the F75.
My question, (and I hope Mr. Dankowski will weigh in on this), is would there be any value in adding a CZ-3D to my stable of Fisher machines?;(and, yes I would be using it specifically for old site/coin hunting use).
Also does anyone know what the final serial number of Los Banos production was for these uni
