JohnnyA/Anyone, are lithium polymer batteries significantly heavier than NiMH. Perhaps these are being used, and more of them, due to the significant power requirements and its adding to the weight of the machine.
I'm a little under the weather today and don't feel like researching LiPO/NiMH battery weights

Thanks Keith/Daniel for your input.......LOCATION....wherever it may be. And I hunt both ways that you guys described. Tom D...yes.....the niche machine is valuable if it justifies the price tag. I may offend some, but I see so much machine swapping/selling on the forums everytime a new high end machine shows up. And I do love new technology. Definitely not a Luddite.
I just feel their is too m

At this point in detectorology.....I just don't see any quantum leaps in improvement. As Keith points out....its niche improvements. But the price for these incremental improvements is really jacking up the cost of units. I think the real cheese is going to be in coil development and corresponding software to utilize the coil innovation. The ability to 'see between' the trash, far

I like the hipmount idea. Why don't they????? White's did it with their older heavy units, like the 6000Di Series 3. Google a image of the White's. I owned one. It was a true joy to use in that type of configuration. Deus does it. It would solve the one big major gripe of Minelabs. Weighty units. They would sell like crazy.
I am looking for work. I wish one of these mfg's wou

I agree with Joe, the Discovery 3300 is alot of detector for the price range. Better than the Pioneer in my opinion. Whatever unit you buy, both of these units are mfg's by First Texas Products, make sure you buy from a authorized dealer. If you don't, you will get zero warranty coverage. If you do, both units have 5 yr's parts & labor coverage. Don't buy a used unit, as w

My opinion only......If this unit can truly discriminate all variants of gold items from aluminum in a consistent/reliable manner....the price would far exceed 2500 dollars.

Yawn!!!! Color display (V3i)....Waterproof (AT Pro)......Wireless (Deus)....GPS (I know my location already)...PC Mapping (????)
After all these years of waiting for Minelab to release a new unit......this is IT ? Where's the serious cutting edge innovation over existing technology to improve finds ?

Bryanna, NASA-Tom hit the nail on the head with his statement. No pun intended. Memorize it...especially........'is the preamble/postamble a bit washed-out'. Lots of bad targets follow that audio behavor.

Monetary value does matter to me to a certain degree. But if I had a choice between let's say...a 14k mens wedding band...and a seated half dollar in AU condition....I'd take the half dollar. For the aestheic beauty and rarity.

Please heed Keith's advice. I won't go into my story, but I almost died at 17 from heat exhaustion/stroke due to foolishness and not being prepared. My buddy saved my life. Carried me for about mile to the vehicle. It can and does happen. And if it doesn't kill you outright, one can suffer permanent brain damage from being internally cooked.

SeanPaul. Does the Omega have a proclivity for certain types of aluminum..yes!! However, it is rather easy (for me) to discern aluminum. A high conductor target on the Omega will give a rock solid VDI (about a 0-2 ID number variance when swept) Aluminum, that reads as a high conductor on the other hand will give about a 3-5-7 ID variance. Also, the audio hit on the 'falsing' aluminum ju

If your getting alot of false positives at the end of your sweep, perhaps your 'particular' sweep speed is not correct for the F75. End of sweep falsing indicates possible sweep technique issues. Try different sweep speeds in same exact area (ground) you get end of sweep falsing. See if it makes any difference in amount of falses.

Because of the physical design of links in a chain, most detectors see a multitude of links as only one link. Some detectors are designed to do better on chains, but they give up something in another area of the detectors abilities to do so.

Kev, for what its worth, my Omega has similar behavior in regards to aluminum can slaw/certain iron reading as high tone conductors even with/without max disc being used. At first, I was very frustrated by this. What I found after more time with the unit was that these 'falses' were easy to discern by watching the ID number variances. The 'false' signals will vary by about 5-7

My 1883 founded city is a mecca for fill dirt....everywhere!!!! Trick is to find the little areas that haven't been 'violated'. There are commercial gravel pits outside of town, so when I hit rocks/gravel at a location, I know its fill and move on.

Perhaps its like the T2, in De mode, where disc affects gain. I see the value in this type of system....for coinshooting.......probably not for relics though. Why doesn't someone do tests like Mal & I did with the T2, on the F75/F75LTD.

Kev, I would give the Deus more time. Only for the reason that it is a new machine. Heck, if you deceide to sell 6 mo's from now, you'll get close to what it would sell for today. Barring the mfg doesn't do some serious price drop. Which I doubt, as it is a european made unit.

Sven1, its possible that during the files transfer to a new server something got messed up. Why not have someone who has an account there PM the Guv, and ask the 64 dollar question.
