when I called whites the first thing Mary asked me was did I contact the dealer I bought it from. she said he should be able to swap it out for me. I told her I did but he did not have any more in stock. I guess if the dealer has more in stock you can have him swap it out for you with another one.

I would read the manual and then go to a test garden with some deep targets buried and then tweak it until you get the best depth and response. Let us know how you make out. When John let me borrow his I made some real deep finds in areas I know I had hit before.

Whites sent me a new MX Sport to replace my defective one. I can say this one seems to be working good. The modulation works like it should. It may just be me but the pinpoint seems to be a bit stronger too.

This was done with my cell phone so the quality is not the best but you can see from the waveform there was not much change but on the second video of the CZ you can see a definite tapering off of the sound.

QuoteWill shoot another video next week on sensitivity and tweaking the MX Sport for maximum depth. Might include AudMod, though it has the opposite effect - you lose significant depth (at least perceived depth) when weak signals are fainter.
Looking forward to the video. How about one showing the depth difference between the stock coil and the ultimate coil.

QuoteHey wjs, it's Monday and I was wondering if you contacted White's and what they told you?
Also, have you posted this issue on the White's Forum?
I contacted Mary, they are sending me a new unit and a return label for the old one. I knew they would take care of me. They still have the best customer service......;o)

They looked at the video and said to send it in. They are sending me a new one and a paid return label for the old one. I should have a new one in the mail today. I knew they would take care of me.......;o)

They just need to hire me and Kenny....lol We will put them through a torture test and try ever setting and combination of settings they have plus take them to the nastiest places to see how they operate. And the most important thing.....Give them some real and honest feedback, not just tickle their ears and kiss up to them for more freebies.

QuoteWith the modulation turned off, the unit appeared to detect deeper....
I think the depth is the same but the audio is so bad with modulation turned on you can't get any usable signal out of it in the last inch or so.

Done a bit more testing. Seems like it will do this in all the programs not just coin and jewelry. I did take it out yesterday and it seemed to work ok for shallow coins but couldn't help wonder if I was missing coins in the 6-8 inch mark. We may never know what is causing this but I know whites will take care of me. I just wish they could get the modulation working better as I like to list

QuoteNo different that you buying a new car only to find out the right rear door won't open.
I have to agree. If this is an option (modulation) that it is supposed to come with but that option doesn't work then I think the manufacturer should resolve the issue. If your new car would only go 5 mph top speed and the manufacturer said its not a problem that is just how it works. That wo

QuoteWhen you loose it like that what is the target I.D. showing..
almost sounds like the I.D. reject volume is kicking in as the I.D. switches..
do you have a zone turned down volume wise on it?
sound like the notched area is muted..
Keith
The iD will drop to foil or iron.
reject volume is set to 0
No zones turned down
Not using any notches. This happens even after a

QuoteIf your modulation isn't working right have them fix that too? I want to see just one MXS with a proper working modulation...
its the same as it has always been. Maybe modulated the last inch but I wouldn't even call it modulation but maybe a sharp decrease in sound.

I did try several factory resets and changed batteries, checked the coil cables, etc. I will just call whites on Monday and hopefully they will take care of it.

QuoteSuch effect can also arise in case of the non-uniform composition of a coin, for example when coin center from steel alloy and a coin edging for example from brass...
Maybe in some cases but I tested it with a silver quarter, a clad quarter and other coins. I even tried a large dollar coin and it was even worse on that.

I really do think they have potential I just need to get my hands on one that works right. Or I could use this one and miss all targets in the 6-8 inch range. Maybe Tom will send me the one he used in his video, not the drop test video but the iron one......Lol
