Hi,
Just bought a used E-trac...the 11" coil is intermittent, think the cable is bad at the coil.
I'm wanting to replace it but not sure what's the best way to go...should I buy a minelab original 11" coil or put the money into a after market coil?
What coil would you guys suggest if I go that route?
Any advice would be appreciated....
Cheers, Bob

Hi,
I have a chance to buy a well used E-trac...at least 8 years old...detector still works well I'm told, just some cosmetics...foam grip has a tear in it...and the detector has a few scraps on the upper shaft.
Seller said it has been looked after other then that....My question...what should I offer, don't want to low ball the seller but I don't want to pay more then what it

Hi Jimmy,
Yes I think your right...not sure what end to tackle...the one with the probe would be the tough one...one to the box is no problem...I have a solder station
Got a email back from Sunray...they will repair it for $110.00 US plus shipping and insurance...guess they replace the probe and cable.
got $110.00 into it now...you always take a chance buying used gear

Thanks Tom,
I've checked the solder connections at the box, they all look fine...it may be in the cable it's self.
What I have noticed if you turn down the sensitivity to 40 or 50 it seems to less erratic and you can touch the cable without it chattering like mad?
Not sure whats going on there....
Cheers Bob

Bought a used Sunray probe FX1 the other day for my F75 LTD2 ....put it to the test today and have a big chatter problem....the probe works fine if you don't pick it up.... lay it on the ground, wave a ring or a coin near it and works like it should ...soon as you pick up the probe or touch the cable from the probe to the switch box it starts to chatter like mad...gota be a problem with the c

I have four of these cameras....the standard lens will work fine mounted on a detector...the wide angle will give you a bet more close up.
If using the camera in near field, then the Standard “A” lens would be recommended and focus distance is 10-12 inches (254-305mm)
Standard “A” Lens in 1080P wide = 85 deg./Wide Angle “B” Lens in 1080P wide = 116 deg./Wide Angle “C”/”C2” Lens in 1080P wide =

If you look at the youtube video I posted it shows a pretty wide angle with the standard lens..the software program allows you three options narrow, wide and night time.
If you note the homemade mount in the video it will give you some ideas on what you could build....it also velcros to the cuff and velcro to hold the camera to the mount... what I like about his is that it mounts back on the cuf

Mobius Action cam....it's about the best I've found for the money.
Has great on line support..very clear video at 1080P... it has other settings as well.
Very small and light weight...it also comes with a standard angle lens or you can get the C2 wide angle lens
I've got 4 of these cameras...I also use them as dash cams in my personal vehicles...gives about 2.5 hrs on internal

Hi Des D
Thanks for the reply....I'm sure it's going to be like looking for a needle in a haystack...but I'll give it the ole boy scout try
I agree the G2 with the 13" coil will give me the best coverage by far....oh... thanks for the test
Was going to get out this weekend...but we got hit with 10" of snow...may have to wait on the go-pro for a bit....

Looking for some advice...my friend got a go-pro harness for his hunting dog for Christmas...first time out the dog came back without the camera
My friend was in uncut meadow grass about 2 feet tall when he let the dog go...the dog wasn't very far away at anytime...it may have covered about an acre in the meadow before coming back to his owner.
He's asked me if I would take one of my

I've got a CZ-5 that has been working great, but recently I've noticed that when I adjust the volume control it seems to cut out the power to the detector.
If I wiggle the volume back and forth the detector fires back up and works well until I try to adjust the volume control again.
I'm wondering how to remove the control nobs...thinking maybe try some switch cleaner on the volume

Thanks guys for your input....Ive never used or had a Tesoro. I'm wanting to buy just one....guess I'll have to decide on what mechine is best, for an all around detector.
