from what i have read and seen i think that the Tarsacci is not the detector for gaining an edge on hammereds i think the Nox has the edge for finding them i would love to be proved wrong though as i am eager to try a Tarsacci.

How much depth does the Tarsacci lose to the Nox on a Nickel in your soil Tom ? (Nox 15 inches Tarsacci ?) and do you think the upcoming larger coil would bring the neutral soil performance of the Tarsacci closer to the Nox ?

Tom would that be 2 bar on the F75 meter ? if so i will have to borrow one and test my soil in my area but i think it would be easier to borrow a Deus but how does that meter compare with the F75 one ?

Tom are you saying that in low minerals or neutral soil that the Equinox has the better depth over the MDT ? or would you say that the depth in those soils is the same on each unit ?

Wow you must be new to metal detecting Detech have been around for 20 years or so they make the SEF coils for Minelab metal detectors and thier own Detech line of metal detectors, the Relic Striker model is a depth monster.

On our digs we get between 50 - 70 people and out of those the Deus is still (just) the most popular Nox a closing second then the rest are Ace 250,Makro Racer,Nokta Multi Kruzer a few CTX the odd Fisher (very out of fashion now) and the odd Golden Mask the ones i do not see (well maybe a couple a year) are any Whites Tesoro T2

I would disagree with the comment
''The coils are tuned to a fixed radio frequency (there is no such thing as a ‘multi’ frequency detector; the only way to change the frequency is to exchange the coil''
surely the Minelab multi frequency detectors Nox,CTX etc are actually using more than one frequency its just that the coil will not work optimally with each of the frequ

Metal detecting and treasure hunting myths and secrets Are you the proud owner of an all-singing, all-dancing ‘multi-frequency’, ‘digital’ metal detector sporting the very latest technology? If you believe this then you are perhaps sadly mistaken. What you actually have is an analogue, fixed frequency, induction balance metal detector – in essence, not much

Hey Calabash now that the new update is out can you try F2 on 0 with the elevated nails and the 2 piece button i seem to remember the 6 inch coil was not as good as the Deus on that test other users are reporting that F2 separates better than FE

Yes i meant in the soil not air in the Impact test by Tom he mentions that it is almost capable of 14 inches on a dime or something like that ( i will have to re read the thread) so if the Simplex is deeper than the Impact then it may get that 14 inch dime

Can the Simplex get a 14 inch Dime? if its a bit deeper than the Impact i seem to remember Tom begging for just a bit more from the Impact to achieve this.
