Hate to see this happen between two people I like and respect.
Mike has contributed much to my knowledge since I started detecting over eleven years ago, His posts are always a worthwhile read.
I've done business with Steve multiple times. His prices and service have been great and I highly recommend him. He didn't have to identify himself here, but he did because he is a standup

For now. But I wouldn't tie up a bunch of $ in a multi-year subscription.

Captain CZ-3D. I like that. You should wear that shirt proudly, Harold!

I'm not much of a video watcher, so I had never watched Craig's (DetectingMo) videos.
Kudos to Craig. His videos are very good and I appreciate the brevity. He can say in three minutes what takes Calabash several times longer. Partly because he doesn't spend half the video just filming himself talking.
More controversy=more views. And views are the currency of YouTube. Cala

OK, I broke down and watched the relevant minutes of this video and then some.
Calabash, on another thread you said your buddy says this unit was calibrated by Tom Dankowski. If that's the case there should be a sticker on the detector and for quite a few years Tom has been putting his mild Florida dirt depth to the tenth inch on that sticker as well as a 1-10 number for both stability a

I had a conversation with Rusty Henry in 2017 after the Mojave came out and according to him the Mojave was a big hit. In fact, he told me that the success of the Mojave and the

Good for you, new guy. Glad you are officially cured with sense of humor fully intact!

+1 to all the above.
Monte has selflessly contributed so much knowledge to this hobby over many years. He is one of the handful of people I consider a metal detecting "guru"
Special kudos to Calabash for suggesting this thread.

Talked with Ralph several times and he seemed like a really nice guy. Still using the left handed Amish pouch I got from him close to a decade ago. Solid as the first day I used it.
Prayers to you as well, Rick. May you keep co-existing with your uninvited guest for many years to come.

Calabash, you have stated in the past that your reason for making videos is to show others honest comparisons so they know what detectors are most capable.
That's all very noble and altruistic, but it conflicts with what you said in a earlier post on this thread: "In reality I hope more people in my area follow them with the AT SERIES because that will mean there will be plenty of

Of course. If Calabash doesn't perceive the AT to have great audio than no one else possibly can either. If anyone says otherwise they must be regurgitating the Garrett kool-aid.
I will say the great audio I refer to is the AT Pro. I've never used the Gold (or Max) so I can't speak with any authority there. At the risk of regurgitating, others whose opinion I respect say the Go

A lot of folks here complaining about Calabash's video don't realize they are feeding the beast.
YouTube is all about getting the views. You watch the video, you feed the beast.
Getting passions aroused leads to views. That's why sex sells and controversy does too.
Calabash has some skills for sure, but he lost all credibility for me with the only video of his I ever watch

Very true, Daniel.
I was shocked to see that Bandito sell for so much. But there were two people who really wanted it and bid it up back and forth instead of just waiting until the last few seconds and entering the highest amount they were willing to pay. The psychology of two bidders wanting to "win" in a bidding war is a seller's dream scenario.
Even after fees, the sel

There's one for sale over on Finds. I'm no connection to the guy selling it, just thought I'd pass it along.

I just finished the How To Repair Damaged Coins article. Definitely a worthwhile read.
Thanks for sharing, Bill, I'm looking forward to reading more of these articles on your blog. You are an excellent writer.
"The Tesoro closure is all a part of this."...ok, you piqued my interest. Care to expound?

I'll cut you some slack Rick, and I enjoy your posts.
But when you call clad stabbing dumb, I think you underestimate the number of people whose primary enjoyment of the hobby doesn't come from monetary gain.

The word epic gets used way too much nowadays, but I'd say it applies here. Congrats, Brian!
Judging by the dates and the fact that they are all seated liberty dimes, it's reasonable to assume this was an 1880's spill. It wasn't uncommon back then for pants not to have pockets so holes were punched in coins for the purpose of attaching to clothing. My semi-educated guess

We are so fortunate to have an unsponsored forum like Tom's.
The only forum where I can express my utter contempt for Kellyco.
Specifically, their shady sales practices and their selling of LRLs, the snake oil of our hobby.
Also the one time I ordered from them because it was a super good deal and they double billed my credit card. I wound up wasting the better part of an hour of
