Tom, Dimitar.....unless that new developmental coil is like a snow shoe (CTX 17") a center (or closer to center) attachment point would be fine....although I have very few complaints on the original Tarsacci coil.
Dew, that was a fun hunt, only way the day could have been better is with some gold!
That V nickel was my second oldest found in the water. As we said, brass, copper or silve

Oh, the mystical writings of a master engineer....clues for the end user IF I am not reading between lines wrong. Whilst developing that "dream" coil don't overlook/forget the center shaft connection point on the coil....
"(But better)" could save me thousands of dollars over the AQ purchase if the timing was right......but don't rush please, get it right.

Thanks Tom!
I've noticed the deep targets mainly hitting non ferrous numbers (occasionally spurious ferrous numbers) also as a sign of a deeper non-ferrous target. Good to have verification of what I've seen out there.

Good hunt and info Tom! I've been so tuned into both 6.4 and 9 kHz I rarely try 12 but with these really good winter morning lows I'll have to give 12kHz a try again. Curious what is your salt setting is at 12KHz if you don't mind me asking.

Even better, if Tom had a visit from Fisher "a good while back" what a better way then to have him "visit" it again to see IF/HOW changes since then have changed the machine.

This post is mainly to see IF Fisher is reading this forum and what has been said on the Impulse AQ. IF this machine is getting close to production, just exactly 'why' DOESN'T Tom Dankowski have a AQ prototype for his scientific analysis and input? Being this is a "beach" machine, I can't think of a better person (with his resume and experience in the field) to test

Seriously Dew,, you ought to know better than to even try detecting a beach after playing volleyball.....especially at our age! :-)
Fisher is just looking out for you and themselves.....if you were to go out there with a 10 hour battery and the new AQ digging 2 foot deep holes all day (at our age) in this litigious day and age, the company wouldn't survive!!!
I just wish the mac

Oh it's there Dew, just not in levels that will affect you like further down south. Just give it a few days of southwest winds to bring it inshore more.

Ahhhhhh, now I understand. That's another reason why I normally don't post at all, (especially Facebook) I share via text or email to a few select people. I was making an exception this year on Tom's Forum just because of the Tarsacci

Not a bad month Dew..... I've been off of Facebook so this is caught me off guard.....congrats!
Hard to see the picture though, it is really small.....even when you click on it. Might want to try the next size up when you downsize them.

If they plan on using Koss phones HOPEFULLY they can get some Koss phones that have a better fit then the ones ML sells....those have to be the worst fitting phones I have.

Dew, it was on one of the few 'stable' areas of the beach and not close to the sandbar or in the normal low tide area. Hardly any shells in the scoop with the ring....yet the sand is packed firm there. I wouldn't call it hardpan.....

20 gram Platinum today, approximately 9" deep in the sand in chest deep water read a consistent 7 TID. I was snorkeling and fanned the target but after about 6" gave up on it and used the scoop to retrieve it. Air testing it at home and in the 6-9" range from the coil it reads 7, starts to vary numbers slightly as you get up to about 12" from the coil.

Got to meet up with Dewcon and Dimitar today at the beach. I spent a short time talking with him but had to leave earlier than I wanted to....not enough time on the meter at the parking lot. Talked about the MDT and what we liked about it along with a few small changes we thought would work nicely. Really wish I had put more money in the meter! Hope they found some gold after I left.

Also, in my tests, 18 KHz doesn't like the wet sand as much as the 6.4 and 9KHz do.....change frequencies to learn the machine easier....then try to tackle the 18KHz.

What I liked most on the video was even the "master" thinks his rings are nickels, coins and sinkers....and is just as surprised (and thankful) when he sees it is a gold ring! Great old finds Joe.....here's to Global Warming and hopes it allows you many more days this year in the water!

Yeah Dew, this storm will not do much more than a normal storm cycle does.
That .6 gram ring almost got tossed out with the shells it was so small. I caught just a flash of yellow as I started to dump the scoop. Funny how something so small can make the hunt better....other than that ring that day was just a walk in the water!

Tom, like Dew....I was challenged with timing of life and weather, however I did pretty good for the few times I did make it out. Here is the take for August....

Tried something different last night, hunted in 6.4 KHz (Sense 8, Threshold 0, SB 34). Was hunting alongside another MDT in the water and found working two different frequencies allowed getting a bit closer together while hunting without hearing (as much) interference from the other machine. However out of the water the noise is much more noticeable and a greater distance is needed between machin

Dew, I had a hunch that might happen but was hoping it wouldn't. Personally, I don't think "lubing" those cables is all what everyone thinks.....not a magic pill.....and.....may cause problems if not the proper "lube" for the specific (cable) material it is put on... Heat and sunlight is more often the problem so proper storage is key.....however, a bad batch of cabl
