I was born in 52…. So there was still a lot of silver floating around. I think you mentioned it once Tom about the dates of the coins in are pocket being about 20 years old. My uncle got into detecting, had to be very early and his son collected every coin and baseball card he could get his hands on. My uncle is the only guy I know that has two of those rare 1916 dimes. Both found detecting

Demitar asked for suggestions some time back and several were posted to Steve Hs page. He spoiled us when that video came out with new tones. I put a lot of man hours on my machine. The middle shaft wore to where the lock wouldn’t hold it….. BUT SteveG came out with a GREAT shaft replacement that was thinner and his locks were first rate. Another issue I had was the button face…. all the colo

This project has been a real “pulse devil”. I agree Tom that was a real bad situation with one person selling them with conditions. IF they ever get this project right it could move detecting in another direction. It took a lot of flack the way it was marketed and cost some jobs. Fisher has really been pretty quiet since especially while others have been turning out machines.

I agree some people have a nack for turning a buck for the silver they find. I’m one of the lazy ones who don’t spend hours tumbling pennies or putting silver on the net. But on some gold pieces I will otherwise it’s off to the refinery. Like most pirates thou I’ve have a box or two of my own “precious”.

Lees point about newer detectors .... is in my opinion one of the huge improvements. Every since the Etrac more machines have required less of a learning curve and are very effective out of the box. We really had a learning cure with some of the older machines..... IE DFX and Explorer. One of the hardest things for many to learn to do is slow down and listen for the weaker targets. We tend t

Hummm if there is a delay between the first batch ..... are they waiting to see areas they need for an update?
Daniel.... or anyone for that matter who has a pair of Tonys water phones that were used with the Nox. I understand they work on the Manticore. I see their are some differences with the wireless from the Nox..... is there any differences with Tonys phones?

Im popping in and out simply because this site wont allow me to post. Have no idea why has to be a setting.
SteveG, we both were pretty active with the Explorers, i wonder if this smart screen reacts the same with some targets like deep nickle, IHs, and bottle caps? Still yet to see very much on its use IN the water. Im hoping to see what phones they use and what kind of chatter the salt

Tom was told the 7/900 had full CF shafts with significantly improved locks. But, i believe i read they use the same coils and the 6/800. If true, isnt the lower coil connector..... meaning nothings really changed with those coil ears. On my side of the island the Nox tended to loose or should i say ID a nickle as iron close to 11".
In the water is the MC going to be quieter than

I know there are like 3 types of bottle caps hitting on various levels depending on the machine. The best machine i ever used for those babies that showed up in the non-ferr was the CTX.
I am totally confused with the Mantacore coming soon..... then we get the 700 and 800. What do these two offer the Mantacore doesnt? Seems to me they still have the coil issue and...... leak maybe? Clea

Its been a kind of leap frog .... we went to larger and better coils..... then headphones..... Machines and now headphones as well. Are these going to be bone phones? Can we find LL headphones that work with it? Frankly ... headphones normally arent a priority with the company. MLs water phones havent changed in years..... good ole yellows. One of these day maybe machines wont be sold with

Im a niche hunter .....hunting mostly in the Gulf. Since ive moved to Fl ive not done any dirt hunting and in fact sold all my machine but the MDT. The site until recently was primarily dirt hunting discussions so i came on more to read. However this is my 28th year of detecting. IMO a FB page is very limited. Its todays posts ...then kind of fades away. I cant imagine real long posts hel

So Tom does 4Khz work near the salt water? When we tested the Nox it would get a 3 gram gold ring at about 12" near the water in Multi. I dont believe ive ran into anyone using the Legend here yet..... the Deus yes. So multi kind of works like WIFI where it splits 2 and 5khz? I assume one receives more of the signal than the other (s)?

I guess for in the water use that vibration of the handle will depend on how sensitive it is. If it falses you are going to find yourself checking more targets and using more battery. 4 beach modes..... what does that mean.... and what will it mean for in the water hunting? Someone said beach 2, turning down the sensitivity, and upping the recovery on a Nox can reduce power by almost half. I

I read what ML said about 50% more power.....but it seemed to be worded by marketing. You Tom mentioned Carl saying 50% would equate to about 7% more depth. He did not say the machines gained 50% at the coil did he? Do we have more or a larger battery.... and just where is it? Id personally like something like the MDT easy to recharge at a $5 charge to replace. Based on all the conversation

Thanks...... again i use the term ACCEPTABLE LOSS with any detector..... what will it get ... what wont it get, then does that suit you objective. Coming out of the water these current multi use machine with their high Khz have some advantage. In the water ..... thats debatable since you cant really judge target depth..... but generally we know when they slap a larger coil on things can change

No coil ears..... wow how does that work? I noticed they finally caught up and are using quality locks..... hopefully Steve had something to do with the shaft lol. I also hope they did away with that aluminum upper witch blisters in salt water. Is there a cap on the end of that shaft? A single battery like on the MDT would sure be nice. Very cost effect to replace the battery at about $5.

I am curious since i know a few on here have the MDT Tom. How does it compare? Scrubbing the coil at high sensitivity especially in the salt water and up sloops can make most machines chatter/false. The question is can it be tamed and if so whats the cons to that? I have no doubt SteveG will come up with a great shaft to help you with that length. I have a friend or two who have the Deus so

So how do you determine your best GB...... turn SB OFF then set it first? Is it like raw gold hunting where you hunt just below GB.... which means you hear more minerals as well? Ive not dirt hunted in years since i moved to Fl.

Obviously there is a way ..... they were changed. But how difficult is it to do. We were talking yesterday about the AM single tone. It would sure make it easier since the signal is being process to give a high/low tone and reduce the amount of time we push those buttons for reverse disc. The newer machines use their coil pins for updates. might be something to look at. But .... i think t

Its been mentioned. It would require a total redesign..... hopefully if he comes out with a redesign it will incorporate tones, longer length, handle angle adjustment .... because my hand really pushes on the box and the headphone connector is in the wrong direction. I had Tony change mine to have the headphone cable go over the shaft. I also like your lower shaft Steve..... it just displaces

As a beach guy whos used a good many of the beach machines me and the guys who own them here havent put um down. Ive sold 3 Xcal, a CTX and my Nox. I just have this one unit now. For my use its just that good. With any machine there will be "ACCEPTABLE LOSS". I agree with Steve..... not sure id use it as a cherry picker, but on the beach most of us just need to know ferr and non-f

I got a look at the coil mentioned .... its the 12". On update couldnt he use a coil pin to do that much like the Nox or are all those in use? I dont necessarily mean on line but at his shop? The way i run mine... HOT flipping back to disc to do an ID would be hard to improve.

Its likely he has two machines when testing and it was a simple way to do it. Tom, i just got an Email asking what i knew about a NEW 12" Oval coil for the machine as well..... can that be confirmed by you dealers? Looks like hes been busy. It will be interesting to see other changes he might be making.... like lengthening the upper shaft for better balance and cuff movement. Ive seen

Gotta love SteveG custom shafts. Guys he will basiclly make them way you want it length wise.
For those who dont like the tones or may find them difficult to distinguish ...... i was just sent a video, looks like Aaron is posting videos again. This one is of the tones.... seems hes working on moding them. Not certain how many tones there are now..... did i see 5? They clearly were easie

I like the coverage of the 12" .... but length wise there seem to be the same size. I switched back to the standard this winter there seems to be a good difference in settings in the water enough to make me go hum. Salt setting can be run very smooth 4 digits less...... if what Aaron says is true then that could make a difference in small gold. I dont dirt hunt anymore so i dont try to t

What impresses me is how quickly this company will FIX issues. Most put the machine out and ..... this is it buddy. I watched a u-tube of it in the wash i assume showing its ability to transition in moving water. I see they added a salt balance. Thou im not certain why they used a huge copper coin which MOST any of our detectors would have killed. Bury it 10" would have impressed mor
