Send to a refinery ..... someone like Midwest they pay 90% spot. BUT if you can find someone in the area willing to pay you 80% you maybe better off simply because they will weigh it and there isnt any argument over weight and you avoid shipping costs. The problem now days is coin collection has become big business so they beat you down.... its got to be perfect and a lot of times graded which c

I know Aaron discussed questions some posted on his forum with Dimitar and made his reply based on this info. He worked pretty closely it seems with him while getting his site up and being a dealer passing on into of changes we'd like to see. Dimitar has a FB page i believe but its not suited for what you are wanting done i dont believe. Hes one busy guys as well. However, im hoping Dimi

Id sure like to see Tom do a little testing with the Deus. I say that because ive seen just a small portion of the micro GOLD he used when testing another machine. Most all the gold we use to test is gold we have found with our beach detectors with a set salt setting and we do air tests. Toms got some that is hard for our beach machines to hit on..... i know i tried the CTX and my Xcal.

When the machine first came out Tom said this was a machine for a those with a certain skill set. SteveG...... it reminds me of learning the Explorer it really took time to understand that smart screen and those weak signals. Then came the E-Trac that shortened that curve for the average hunter. No one to my knowledge had gotten in the water very deep with it when i got it...... simply because

You know how much discussion we had when the Nox came out. Im watching as well for its ability on the small stuff and where targets might ID..... especially deep ones. Im still looking for a good small gold machine that might hit stuff like you showed me just a little deeper..... its there we just aint getting it. It also has a great warranty which off sets that price. Its rated to a good d

Absolutely agree..... i had 2 of um bought from the guy who was doing the coils for Rudy. HOT HOT HOT ..... IF there was no black sand. My problem with those machines is my ears would ring for hours after using them...... you hit a bobby pin and you dang near pulls those phones off. They were like $3000 new..... $400 to change a battery and $500 for a coil which was like a huge disk. But y

I think a lot of us are just stepping back and watching these new machines compete. You are NOT tanking your forum Tom. It doesnt help that these new machines havent given you a machine for a good review..... especially if they a totting them to have beach abilities. You test the heck out of stuff. Ive seen ya do it. Many hunters are on FB sites..... thats great for finds and some discussion

I have a couple of the stock coils, but for my use found the 12" a better choice in the water here in the Gulf. What i like about this machine is you constantly learn something from the targets you dig. SteveG you know the learning curve the Explorers had..... like this machine it starts to click. Its not a out of the box average hunter machine. Toms always said he likes machine that ski

I think the MDT has tech beyond just salt balance. Hes not the first to do it. Tendall of Nautilus designed the AquaSound for a treasure hunter by the name of McDonald here in Fl. You salt balanced and GB in the water. I tell you..... SB definitely should be incorporated into beach machines. At various depths things change .... and im no just talking about dive depths. From surf to neck you

It appears Chuck from Owl Engineering has designed some shafts that could be helpful for the water guys using the Nox and Xcal. For those who dont know him hes the guy who designed the Stealth scoop. I didnt order one because my Nox is a back up and im using an Anderson given to me to test early on. It doesnt appear to be a balanced shaft like SteveGs thou.... and i dont see, or maybe theres

One of the FB pages has a video now with Andy Sabisch testing and discussing a couple of targets on the wet sand. Heres what he said:
I have had a number of people ask for feedback on how the Deus II handled wet saltwater beaches since one area where the original Deus was challenged – as are all single frequency VLF detectors – was on saltwater beaches especially those containing black sand.

Tom i think most of us who has been doing this very long have these touch your heart kind of stories ..... that just make us feel good.
Steve this one move about 30 yards straight in. We had one really big storm about that time that did crazy cuts and push ups ..... its just taken time for that sand to start moving. This time of the year if we get more N. winds it starts moving the sand Sou

This is the second time this happened on Christmas Eve to make someone very happy. The last time it was a young couple in their teens who was living in a one bedroom trailor their dad said and didnt have two nickels to rub together. After the give back on Christmas to the young lady the Dad gave me $100 which i gave to her saying you need this more than i do. Her husband who lost the ring and

Tom the splash zone can give detectors hick ups. But out farther its again unique as to how you might have to run it. To me a quiet machine sometimes concerns me. I like knowing the detector knows im hunting fluff sand and gives me just a bit of chatter in the troughs where minerals and tiny trash gather. Down here we also have that gray mud which is tuff for a detector to see thru. The CTX

That kind of what i was thinking about that the size of the coil. Hopefully they will have an 11" as well. In the water it should move well and ill wait and see how it does in salt water with this coil because i already know how the Nox and MDT do. One of my hunting buddies needs to buy one so i can check it out lol. I still have some reservations about the build for salt water hunting

I have no problem flying a flag...... after all, unlike many of them wishing to call me names or disrespect the colors.... i served over 20 years. I was in when we still had the military pay lines..... go in one end of a tailor where there were 2 armed guards and the pay master. He would count out you monthly pay.... then of course there were people on the other ends taking up collections befor

I too wonder how much they may have infringed on Dimitars' tech. Im not keen on coil ear connection point for water hunting. People tend to lean on those shafts when getting pushed around and trying to dig. That means twisting and the farther back on that coil the more torque seems to be put on those ears. External speaker.... bad idea IMO. Im wondering if you can use single freq in t

Tom .... they make them single like this..... or together. I went back the next day and spent some time in that area. But no go.... im hoping if it did have the other half out there i can get my coil over it. Good breeze coming Sunday..... out of town for 3 days but ill get back there again and grind it out. I was really surprised how deep it got..... or was covered much like the buffalo ni

This one was an odd one. Appeared to be just another SS puzzle ring. Got it home and took a careful look ..... 750 white gold made by Georg Jensen. These go new for around $1500. It weighed 5.6 grams. They also sell these with one side white and the other side yellow gold. Im hoping i didnt just get half lol. It was down there pretty deep, id guess 10" just in the hard pan with pushe

so this machine is coming? I see you allegedly can dive with it. Im wondering if it has a salt adjustment because Gary said it could eliminate salinity. Wonder how long underwater its been tested and what freqs will work in the water. If it dont have a salt balance adjustment then it must be using a preset. Id be interesting if they tested it against any other water machine IN THE WATER and

Been awhile since i was an active dirt hunter. What i found in some cases MORE isnt always the better produced. When i hunted real trashy sites i often found after going over an area that reducing the sensitivity would increase my finds in the depth range that you know other should have found those targets. The machine just didnt have to take in so much material and process everything in it.

You have a lot of passion for this machine Tom. I do as well. Call me a "fan boy" but i have no skin in the game ..... the machine has just been one of the best ive used in the water. It produces...... and my repairs have really went down. I loved my Xcals.... i had three but the repairs seemed to be constant AND i upgraded them all at an added expense. Sold um all..... as well as

I agree Tom..... couple of things that have made the greatest improve in my hunting have been larger coils and better headphones. When the explorer went from ten inch coil to the 11 you noticed it. Also.... making a machine usable for the new guys right out of the box is great...... but at what cost to the experienced hunter?

Id liked to have had him around a bit longer since he had just gotten the MDT to see how it evolved. He was passing along some good info that even us beach guys were using. I dont know who those other guys were..... but it doesnt look like they stuck around either. Hopefully he will come back on and post some Summer finds with a little more info.

Ive had the privilege of meeting both Tom and Dimitar. Both have a real passion for this hobby. Extremely interesting to hear them talk about detectors..... thou i have to admit way over my head lol. Been awhile since ive been able to get out ....decided to sell the house and lord know everything that went with that...... then fractured wrist and a couple of toes. Still not a lot of fun digging nor the twisting and pulling that comes with it. I did 5 hours on this hunt it was pretty clean from the local and now snow bird hunters moving in. Some of my junk i dug..... notice no bottle caps.

Cliff.... odd that didnt work. 6.5Khz is kind of a good general freq.... giving good depth while reducing EMI. Then the salt setting.... that would concern me more about loosing small gold than not running smoothly. Think the GB being that high did it.... but ive GBed at the waters edge and it can be way up there. Were you using the 12" coil? They seem to react a little different to m

I have 2 StarvR scoops ($140 each) with nylon shovel handles ($15) that ive had at least 10 years. Those who buy that also buys the CF handle... whats the cost of that $400? Ill spend the money on a machine ..... other things are cheaper to replace.
