Now that I've got about 50 hours of use on my DST upgraded Camo F75 LTD, so I wanted to share some of my thoughts on it.
First it's important to keep in mind that every environment is different, what may work well in the inert soils of Florida, may not work well in the highly mineralized soils of California.
I've had my F75 LTD since 2009 and have put thousands of hours on it

He was using a Minelab Explorer2. Even with his machine off, the F75 was going crazy.

Finally got to field test my F75 LTD w/DST upgrade todat at several sites.
One site was an old railroad depot and hotel buildings across from the RR depot (now vacant lots). The railroad line is still there and active, although it now longers stops where the 1800's depot site we hunted was located.
I have to say I was totally disapointed, the F75 w/DST has massive interference issue

My upgraded F75 LTD was just delivered. Sent to FT on 11/18 and received on 12/02, not bad considering that ten of those days were killed off by FedEx shipping from California to Texas and back (4 days there, 6 days back - go fedex!...not).
This weekend we'll be sluething out a (hopefully) virgin 1840's trading post site, it should be the perfect site to test this out. I will be in

Sent my F75 LTD in on 11/18, they shipped it back on 11/26.
I added one of their new control housing rain covers to my order, I hunt in the wet sometimes and it looks pretty nice.
It's slated for delivery on 12/02 (no idea why Fedex is taking so long to come back, four days there and seven days back? Any how, I'm hoping to test it out at a researched (potentially virgin) 1840

I have this NEL coil on my F75 and love it. It's as deep as the factory 11" DD, just as deep, less prone to EMI, and separates better. Only real negative is a bit less ground coverage I guess.

I took the plunge and sent in my trusty old F75 LTD I bought new back in 2009. It should be back end of this week, and a friend and I have been researching an area with an old trading post that we believe to be a virgin site (a rarity in California!). We're going to check it out next week and I'll get to test out my upgraded F75 DST.
I'm very curious as to what settings are go

That's a great point on the sweep distance for ground balancing.
I'll have to try the 1 tone, 6 disc, 99 sens. setting. I have an old spot that's been pretty cleaned out, but I took a buddy there and he managed to find a 1776 copper reale, that's an old coin for California!

I've had my F75 LTD now since 2009, I'm sure I've logged thousands of hours on it by now.
I always hunt in BP mode, Nasa Tom style with the sensitivity maxed as much as EMI will allow, and disc as low as I can stand (usually low single digits, maybe all the way up to 7).
I'm curious what other seasoned F75 LTD/SE users are doing?
What tricks have you learned over

Super find!!
A gold coin has been on my list, have been on several hunts now where they've been found, but unfortunatley not under my coil.....yet.
Congrats!

Hey Pimento does it look like it's possible to mod the F75 to be able to add a switch to disable the backlight?
It's terrible if out in the back country night hunting, it's quite blinding actually.
Thanks,
Brian

I guess the only thing I could knock them on is that we were pretty clear with feedback to FT/Dave J. that there were some serious issues with EMI blowing out the F75, and on the FIndmall forums he kind of shrugged it off as a normal event.
After all that, it's nice to at least see they acknowledge it was an issue, and, apparently have a fix. I hope that my F75 LTD will benefit from t

What a shame, I think it would be pretty easy to incorporate the adjustable LED setup from the F19.
A F75 DST with the F19 LED light setup would almost be enough to make me upgrade my F75

Several years ago I tried 9v rechargeable Li on my CZ-70, and at a max I would get about 4-6 hours of usage. As the battery discharged, it didn't reflect the discharge on the battery meter and the CZ would just shut off when the batter was exhausted.
Now keep in mind that when I tried them, there were only a couple of 9V Li batteries on the market, so it sounds like there are much bette

Interesting that it looks like Dave and the Fisher team ARE listening to our critisims of the F75, as we see new features implemented to resolve those issues such as the variable LED lighting with the ability to disable it on the F19, and now the DST on the F75 which was pleagued with EMI issues IMHO.
I have the F75 LTD and it was quite problematic with EMI. At one point it had a non-EMI prob

I have to admit that aside from the red adjustable LED backlight, thus far I'm not too impressed by the videos. Initially I was when I saw a barber quarter found, but after learning that it had first been detected by an etrac, and then the F19 couldn't hear it in disc mode, but was able to hear it in AM mode it was dug, it kind of lost it's thunder.
To me, the best feature is
