Did a little recon work this afternoon to check out a new hunting spot that only dates to the 30's-40's but I thought it had great potential for silver coins as well as jewelry due to it's purpose.
I spent a couple of hours checking it out, and at one point a park ranger came over to me. I though oh oh, I'm probably getting booted. He asked me if I had my detecting permi

Yesterday was a beautiful 70-someodd degree day, and I got out yesterday with a couple of friends in search of the elusive silver oldies.
We hit a San Francisco East Bay park and had a pretty good hunt, lots of jewelery and a BIG SILVER first for me.
Be gentle, this is my first shot at video editing

Tom is there a baseline air test standard for the Omega 8000 similar to what you have posted for the CZ3D? I'd like to test an O8 to see where it stands.
Thanks,
Brian

What channel is this program on? I've heard about it, but don't think I get it here?
I heard they broke a brand new F75 LTD because they crashed their ATV into a tree, then duct tapped the control housing to the rod and went on their way - LOL! That I'd like to see :-)

What's interesting is that I used to dig a LOT more wheats in 3H tones. For some odd reason 4 tones seems to be little better on silver though. I'm on the fence between using 3H and 4 tones, I enjoy finding Indian Heads, even wheats, so I guess I better start digging all those 50's signals in 4 tones :-)
Unfortunately a lot of trash seeps into the 50's range, including s

Guess I scrapped enough of that pesky gold out of the way to let the silver shine through, and shine through she did!
Got out to GGP with a hunting buddy this week and landed my third barber dime (1900S) of the year. We were trying some different areas and tried another spot and my first target was a nice 1942 merc, then a silver rosie. After a bit I got a high 80's low 90's signal

My wheatback finds have all but disappeared over the past week while hunting with my F75 LTD, but one day I went out with the CZ70 and in an afternoon I snagged eight wheaties. On my way home I thought that was odd that I was getting so many wheaties with the CZ70 and almost none with the F75 LTD. Then I remembered that I had switched from 3H tones to 4 tones to test it out. OK, that makes sen

Pinpointing is fine, but I'm not sure it's any better on bottle caps. Last weekend I spent a day using the little concentric football coil on my F75 LTD in boost mode, and it worked great on coins, but the F75 LTD still had an affinity for bottlecaps. Yes sometimes their bouncy, but so are coins, so even though many times I called the target as a cap, I still ended up digging it not w

The notching system on the F75 is an abomination. Not sure why they couldn't keep it simple (KISS) like on the CZ70 or a multitude of other machines. FRL seems to have an affinity for screwing up the simple stuff like notching. Perfect second example, look at the Coinstrike, where the notching was opposite of what would be intuitive.
Although I don't use notching on the F75, what

Lil-John and Tom what I'm finding to be a great feature of the LTD boost mode, specifically for small gold, is how it makes it sound BIG. I hope to find a gold coin with the F75 LTD, I just need to get into the right sites.
On the flip side, this isn't always a desired feature, I mean how many 8" deep 22cal short shells does a guy need to dig because they "sound" la

I have tried the cache mode at parks a few times, but did not recover any coins (and in the same spots did not with boost mode either, so there probably just wasn't anything to be found).
I had an interesting conversation with another F75 LTD user that seems to think using cache mode with the 5" DD would be killer at getting deep coins in parks.

Either coil will go over 5" deep (barring some really funky soil conditions). With the 5" DD I was able to crank my settings on the F70 and it would easily hit silver dimes at 6"+.

The sun decided to make a rare appearance for a few minutes a couple of days ago, so I decided to get out for a short hunt at a park behind my house and test out my F75 LTD jewelery program, and I found this chunky 2 gram 14K gold earring (I've found gold rings that weighed less):
This morning I met up with Jim at a SF park. I was working my way around a big old tree, and got a good s

Unless there's a problem, the Explorer SE with the Pro coil should have no problem with an 8" silver dime in any kind of soil (remember it was made to excel in mineralized soil), BUT more operator skill is required when you start getting those 10-11" deep silvers, but with patience it's possible to learn how.
It's possible for a Sovereign to be deeper then an Explore

I never had the F75 legacy model, just the F75 LTD, but have hunted with some friends in the past that had EMI issues on the original F75 in areas that I've rehunted with my F75 LTD and did not have a problem. I've do a lot of intercity hunting (Oakland, San Francisco) and EMI doesn't get much worse then these places, and haven't had any issues hunting them.
The only two

I live in Northern California where the ground is also complex and highly mineralized in most places. I started with a Coin$strike a few years ago, and honestly they just don't do well in CA. Their very sensitive to EMI (most sensitive machine I've used, and I've used a lot), finicky to setup, after putting 100's of hours on mine, I decided to try another machine which ende

Tom someone on findmall is claiming that when using the F75 LTD in boost (or CL) modes that the effective pattern of the search coil is expanded, therefore giving a larger footprint then the legacy modes.
I was thinking about that, and wondered if that's the case, if you were working heavy trash or iron, if one wouldn't be better off with a "thinner" profile coil pattern

I was mainly detecting in the wet salt sand near the surf line both trips. Just is odd that one trip salt mode was not stable at a salt water beach, and another trip to the same beach it's working fine. I dunno....as long as it works, one way or the other, that's all that matters

I took the CZ to the beach again today and it ran smooth as could be with the 'Salt' mode....strange eh? Last week when I was at the beach it was pouring rain, makes me wonder if the HEAVY rain was affecting the salt/normal setting?

Tom and J.T. I completely agree with you. I like having both the CZ70 & the F75 LTD, they seem to compliment each other perfectly, and interestingly one will find good targets the other misses, the perfect 1-2 punch.
