Re: vx3 - 10 years ago
I use a v3i....imo it gets a bad rap for being too complicated (you can make adjustments if you choose to...I'm glad I have those choices/options...not all machines do) Once you optimize the tector for your area - ground - preferences - style.....then it's a turn-on-and-go machine...pretty simple. I would not prefer fixed gb or recovery delay or notch windows or tones or anything else

I hunt with v3i and I love it....can't really compare/contrast to others b/c I've only used whites machines for about 30 yrs now....more about the operator learning the machine - than the machine only....learn that 'tector and she'll hunt with the best of 'em....gl and hh

Not a low-cost unit, but...v3i in single frequency(22.5) - not normalized will expand the scale on the lower end and allows for much greater resolution...and a slower recovery delay will improve tonal quality(longer/smoother). By expanding the scale on the lower end(low conductors) more vdi numbers in smaller increments allows for a better degree of accuracy within that range...good luck finding

The thrill-o-the-hunt....comeraderie...solitude...peace-and-quiet...zone out and get away from life for a few hours...tiring but exhilerating too...good excuse to do somethin' ya wanna do - instead of always doin' what needs doin'. There are days when I don't really care if I find anything...but findin' something is always better...so I can't miss on those days...so

The vdi will be same as a quarter....but the dominant frequency will be 22.5.....not 2.5 like it would be for quarter....and....there's also a bottlecap reject setting that can be used to start to breakup iron,etc...but should be used carefull
