O man Rick those are some awesome looking off road wagons! I'd be a little nervous about mpg and yeah parts availability. Same reason I am not getting a Honda Element.

I have had 1 or more of every CZ series (5,6,7), save the 20/21s (). I still have a couple 3Ds. There is no argument that it is magnificent tool. Tom's DVD showing him hunt with one is hugely impressive. I do believe though that it has enough of a learning curve that most detectorists will never master it before fatigue and frustration win out. The 'Nox is so much better evolved to

I have this and several others of Clive's books (as well as the other guys) and have always found them profitable and learned something new each time I read it. I'd call it a must read for the serious nox-aholic (or social detectorist).

Thanks, Dew! Larry and I have been needing knee replacements for a while and it makes things difficult at the beach. Not surprisingly...
I can sneak off to the local park some mostly with the Nox & XP. I am going to try to get out today for a bit with the Tarsacci. Just had a nice encouraging chat with Dimitar. He mentioned following your progress and was pleased with your gift.

We have both had very limited hunt time due to health issues. I hope things will turn around soon. I appreciate the progress being posted! My settings are the same as Dew. Larry has a bit hotter machine and is usually SEN 7 or 8 and 0 I believe.

I hate to say it, but I toasted my wireless headphones from beach spray and it took a day or two and they were dead. I leave Tony E.s 24/7 now and am very happy. I got one of the first 10 made and he even did a free upgrade on them when his design evolved. He is a stand up guy!

Lost a week end with forum data error message. I assume everyone was off line, not just me. Everything else worked fine. Glad the problem was fixed.

Today has the best fireworks of the year! Not like the ones you get when you step out of line mentioning politics or religion...
Freedom!! (Mel Gibson will live in my head forever)
Happy Birthday, Uncle Sam!

I usually recommend the brightest flash light and look for the twinkle. My granddaughter found hers in the trap of the kitchen sink. Oh, and I will say a prayer for a donation of any size...

I am a fan of MH and you. Never thought less of you as I followed the thread. I would like to think it is just a randomness that occurred and not a boycott.

My first was a '57 Rosie way less than an inch deep on a path 50 or so kids walked over it every day it was there. I believe that was the sweet F75 SE I bought from NASA Tom. My second was about a hundred yards away on the same property with a CZ. I was super excited 'cuz I KNEW it was silver. A couple eager shovels and it just disappeared! I checked the hole, the sides and the pil

The preset programs seem pretty well done in the way they do the internal weighting of the multi frequencies, etc. BUT the key is using what works for you and the site you are on. The better one understands how the options impact efficiency the better one will do and appreciate the machine. So forum reads and books become valuable sources of shared experience and expertise. IMHO

In the name of full disclosure I am a detector-a-holic. I've averaged about 3 a year for the last decade. I bought another one today. I AM on the Vanquish notification list. I don't do this to make money. I do it because I love to do it. I'll consider this detector when it is actually there. Until then I will just muse over why they'd name it like a household stain remo

Joe (OBN), I think if Goodie was referring to shaft, headphones, etc., I can buy it. Why there has been no improvement on them over the LONG life of the gold standard of underwater detectors is beyond me. The Excal has spawned several cottage industries/businesses to make it lovable and livable. You have done some great work on my Excal and I still have one of your awesome Disc/AM toggle handl

Nice short, yet fairly complete, video of you scratching off the top of my bucket list. Any generic description of site? State and type of area would be nice.
Thanks for sharing!

From owning/using about 5 Excals over the years I've found that some would false when they first touched the salt water and some would not. Various theories have been suggested, but the reality is just that. Not all did it and we could not find a common thread to predict or cure it.

This sparked a memory for me and I went to the archives. Seven years ago I sent a CZ in for NASA Tom to tune and asked Tom Manly about the Au21x mod (and NASA Tom as I recall). I was told it was a $400 (at the time) cost and it was not all that helpful for gold discrimination. I currently have 2 CZ3Ds and would gladly send one in if it really would improve it over what I am getting from the MD

What? Like a Tarsacci? The MDT 8000 is noticeably easier to swing and is exactly as Badger suggests.
I should add I have Steve's shaft and counterweight on my 800 and am enjoying it.

When you don't know, assume it's a compliment. In that case I have a beautiful mind.
If not remembering names was Alzheimer's than I have partialheimer's. Names come and go in my brain in a randomized algorithm that crashes at the worst times. You're not alone Robert, Rocky, uh Rick...
