Thanks Keith, I have had a lot of different detectors over the years. I'm not new to the detector game but, am not a pro like a lot of you. Have found hundreds of old coins over the years but, not much into relic hunting. Have friends that love relic hunting. I'm just new with this explorer se. I'm trying to understand how it works and what programs work the best for my type of hun

Thanks Keith, I got it set up on a silver program to start with. A lot of the trash rejected. Can I turn the sensitivity up on this se using a small coil? I have many different programs that I got from Paul Lazaro. This will be the first one I try. I want to do a Jewelry and coin program to on this old site. Hoping to find some old jewelry. Was told by the owner that a gold ring was found when so

I have a minelab se pro and want to know what would be a good program to use in parks or yards when using a small coil like the excelerator 4.5x7 for hunting old coins. Just got permission to hunt a home that is 5th generation owned. The owner is in her 80's and doesn't remember anyone ever hunting there. The house is a 3 story brick home from the mid 1800's. Said her family was ve

Received my excelerator 4.5"x7" coil today for my minelab explorer se. My jewelry shop is in the town of Vernon and the town is full of many old buildings and old homes around the county. Some sites go back before the town was established into the late 1700's. Coins have been found from the 1700's in different parks of the county. I am looking forward to hunting many of these

This detector has a green sticker on the bottom that says it was calibrated on 1-28-2014 I think. It's either 1-28 or 1-23. It's hard to read. It's has either 10.3" or 10.8" for depth on a dime. That's with a 8" coil. Add another 1.5" with the 10.5" coil. I tried a quarter with the 8" coil. It's was between 11" and 12". It's

Hello, I have for sale a cz-3d that was calibrated by Tom D. The detector was manufactured in 2013. Bought for my girlfriend so we could hunt together only to find out that 2 cz's can't be within 120' of each other or they will enter fear with each other. I also have a brand new 10.5" coil that goes with it. The cz had already been calibrated by Tom D. before I bought it. I

Keith, this is the video on youtube I saw where the guy was testing the new 6" Coiltek coil in Aug. 2013. Is this the same coil or another one that Coiltek put out? Thanks

I stand corrected. I see now where it says DD in small print in your picture. I can't understand why when I went to the kellyco website and looked at it again it doesn't say anywhere that it's a DD coil. Don't know why the guy in the video said it was a concentric coil. This guy was testing a new 6" coiltek concentric coil in Aug. of 2013 for the minelab explorer series

If you go on to kellyco's website you will see where they are selling them. No where in there description does it say they are a DD coil. Also if you go on YouTube and type in the coiltek 6" treasure seeker coil, you will see videos of the coil being used and them explaining that it is a concentric coil. That's where I got my info and why I was asking if it would be a good coil for

Just because it doesn't have a sticker by Tom D. doesn't mean it hasn't been calibrated by him. I was told by Tom D. that he has only been putting stickers on these detectors he calibrates for the past few years now. Before that there were no stickers. I have a cz-3d 1021 series that I bought that will air test a half dime size coin at 12". I was told by the person that origin

Thanks Keith, Just found out that new 6" Coiltek Treasureseeker coil is a concentric and not DD. Would that make a difference in it's depth and separation? Thanks

Hello, Has anyone tried out the new 6" TreasureSeeker coil from Coiltek? How does it stand up to other 6" coils and the 4.5x7 excelerator coil for depth and separation? Thanks

Has anyone else tried this excelerator 10x14 DD coil? Where's the best kind of places to use this size coil? Do they even make a excelerator 10x14 DD coil for a minelab explorer se? I've looked on the web and I don't see any. Kellyco doesn't sell them. Anybody? Thanks

Thanks Keith! There must be a lot of people out there that agree with you. I can't find hardly anything about this coil on the web. That in it self says a lot about a coil when no one is talking about it. Thanks

Came across a detech 8" excelerator concentric coil that I bought some years back that I never tried out. Has anyone used this coil on the minelab explorer se or e-trac? Is it a good coil and where is the best places to use this type of coil and how does it compare to other concentric coils out there for its size including DD coils for depth and separation? Thanks

Ha Keith, I ordered the detech 4.5x7 coil today. Can't wait for it to come in so I can get out there and go back over some of my old hunting places. Some had a lot of trash and I had a hard time finding any coins with my other coils. Thanks again for the advise.

Thanks Keith for all that info. I will probably get me a Detech 4.5x7 coil. Let me ask one more question about 2 coils I have. Please tell me what you think of them? I have a Fisher QuickSilver 5" coil for my cz-3d that I haven't tried yet. I have a excelerator EQ pro DD 6" coil for my minelab se that I haven't tried. Have you tried these coils and what do you think as compar

Thanks Keith! The 4.5x7 coil must truly be a great little coil. You truly believe it is better than the 5" and 5x9.5" Nel coils? Have you tested all three? Just wondering. I know you and Tom D. would know. Thanks

Hello, Can anyone tell me anything about the Vista rg 1000? I am a coin hunter and have heard bits and pieces about this detector. Just wondering if it is a good coin detector or is it more for Relic hunting? What is this Vista smart detector also? Thanks

Today I did a air test in my jewelry shop just to see how far my cz-3d 1021 would hit a silver coin that was smaller than a dime and half as thick using my 10.5" coil. Mind you, I can't ground balance the detector in my shop. So I set the sensitivity on 5 just for the test. I was hitting that silver coin over 12" away with little effort. Now if I had put the 8" coil on would i

Thanks guys for that info. Keith! I have a Nel sharpshooter 5.5x9.5 coil that I use on my explorer. So do you think the Detech 4.5x7 coil is a better coil and goes deeper than the Nel sharpshooter. I can tell you really like the Detech coils. I have all 3 Nel size coils. Now I wish I had went with Detech or Ultimate. You seem to lean toward them more. Thanks

If you had to pick one detector and pick a coil to go with it, what would your personal opinion be of the best detector and coil combination that would give you the most depth and best separation on those deep older coins that most people would love to find. It could be a certain detector brand and even a after market coil. What ever your combination would be, I would love to know. Lets say we

Hello Tom, So what is the main purpose of the 10.5'' coil if it isn't to give the cz more depth? Does it give it less depth? Is it just for covering more area in a non-trashy area? How would the 5" coil compare to the 8" coil depth wise? I know the 5" is for trashier spots but, what about depth? Thanks
