I have 2 Tarsacci units and the 11” x 8” coil works great on both units. I prefer it for working the beach, and in iron infected sites. It seems to have a faster, more accurate pinpointing and provides me with a quieter oper

I was a beach bum during my school years (ok, I still am now :-) ) and would watch these guys with these big blue boxes swinging and digging target after target with shovels on the beach. I was fascinated enough to be one of those guys that went over and asked “what are you doing?” There were only a few working the beach back then, but they showed me handfuls of rings, necklaces, bracelets and ot

I started that project back over a year ago sometime during the shutdown, but even that became too overwhelming to me and I gave up. It’s just a vast amount of information and time for one person with all that copy and paste, and although we try to stick closely to using “just” the technical posts, it is doubtful we would all agree on every posts that should be included to make a proper cookbook.

Thanks for posting all these early test vids Cal, that is a very interesting detector. I for one would prefer swinging a 9” coil rather than a 11” coil if for no other reason than target separation and less fatigue after several hours. So if I can get the same depth with a 9” that I can with an 11” … well … that would sure sway me toward giving it a try. I did watch your Beach Mode comparison vid

Thanks Tom, it’s not a problem all that often unless I enter an area that I know has EMI from prior visits. And what you mentioned is what I try, and in the same order was well, except I try not to run very longs at 5, I’ll try other things first. (Black Sand, Frequency, rebalancing settings.) Some thing seem to work, some don’t just as you said, and in the case of frequency, it sure seems you ca

Tom,
Great info on this EMI issue, it is definitely eye opening. It make me kind of see we are using ‘guesstimate’ technology to automatically noise cancel on the Nox or any detector for that matter, when it is really requiring highly precise skills and technology to ascertain the true EMI / noise cancel setting for optimum detecting capabilities of the detector. And there aren’t many places tha

Good to know Steve, thanks, I wasn’t aware of that either. But then, I rarely run in single freq anyway unless I’m testing or playing and some SF settings you can’t adjust iron bias in.

That sounds promising. Looking forward to hearing about it when it is announced.

....... the real answer is in atmospheric EMI ridding (or mitigation).
Yes, Agreed. My first trip to VA to hunt for relics was an area mostly under hi voltage power lines, and I might as well have been swinging a stick, I didn’t find ANYTHING that trip, It’s staggering to know that being off ‘channel’ just a bit on the Nox for EMI affects the detectability of those (and many other) coins. I ad

Hi Tom,
Thanks for sharing that interesting experience with the MDT 8000. I didn’t see it mentioned (sorry if I missed it) but were you using the 12” coil, and if you were, would the stock coil require small or significant SB and GB settings to achieve the same results with the ground you were in? I too have found that by being able to ‘tweak’ these two settings with 12”, it gives the MDT a de

I’m in Tom. Was really fortunate to get a chance to meet and speak with Dimitar and have him look over ‘ol #18, and show me some tips and tips at his booth at the Florida Hunt 7 yesterday. Was able to look at the new coil and loved the fit and finish of this coil and it really is deceptively lighter than I thought it would be. I can’t see how it wouldn’t help me get finds just a little bit deeper

I had to run the updater in compatibility mode on my computer, the old girl is still running Windows 7 SP1, but the Nox seemed to update fine once I discovered that. If it just sits there and you get nothing but a spinning icon, you MAY want to give that a try. Remember, you mileage may vary.

Paul, did they start shipping the Tarsacci with a different headphone plug? Mine is just a ~4” pigtail that don’t plug into the Equinox headset directly . Am I missing something, or are you using the WM08 in some way? Tried that several months ago and couldn’t get the WM08 to pair with the Equinox wireless phones without the Equinox in the loop, maybe mine is defective, dunno. Could you explain
