"This should be able to be electronically captured ... then expounded upon."
I've posted previously about 'capturing' sweep data. Originally, I had thought a 'replay' function would be useful, where the past 5 seconds of data could be re-heard, and perhaps at slow-speed. Then it occured to me that if the data is already stored, it can be analysed more thoroug

It's worth taking a look on Steve's DetectorProspector Forum, there's a fellow named 'Phrunt' ( Simon ) who's enjoying using it in New Zealand. He appears to like it more than the Eqx that he already owns.

"it was real windy and cold. ...... real muddy."
This is describing the typical U.K weather that Diggers, myself, Ghound et al, have. Gloves or not, a touchscreen will end up smeared with lumps of mud. If there's one bit of my machine I want clean, it's the screen ... the knobs and buttons can be caked in mud as long as they work.

It appears to be fixed in 'Equinox Beach' mode, that is: 7.8 kHz, 13 kHz, 18.2 kHz and 39 kHz simultaneously. The various operating modes vary such things as recovery speed, and probably other parameters like iron bias, discrimination. And it's not possible to tell what emphasis is placed on the 4 frequencies.

Dew: it's the quantity of lithium that's important, I think. So a watch with a coin cell in it is fine. And presumably an Equinox ( or a Tarsacci ) with a single 26650 cell also is allowable. But a 'laptop-sized' pack, eg. 6 x 18650 size, may be too much for aerial transport.

I wonder how long it will take for dealers to get the new thick-ear coils in? I have a broken ear on mine, so perhaps if I wait a while before trying to get a warranty replacement, I will get a more durable one ?
They should make the ears taller, too, so there is more plastic to flex above the high-stress point where they usually break.
I've also seen some ears crack radially from the

By "in the field" you're meaning 'dirt/soil detecting' , so ploughed fields, pasture, parks. But not salt beach, freshwater beach ?
Mild dirt? Tough dirt ?
Which coil on the Deus - large / medium / small ? What frequency ? Regular or HF coils ? What firmware revision in the Deus? There's plenty of them ....
Which size Equinox coil ? Which firmware revision ?

Quote:"Make mine a Fisher F85 ....... and multithreading? 5, 15, 25, 35, 45. "
It will be an F90 if they can launch it before the end of 2021. And no need for so many freqs, two or three well-thought-out ones will be fine. 8kHz and 18kHz or thereabouts will cover most people's needs. (these are the 'core' freqs the Equinox runs at, probably for a good reason).

"how is Nokta-Makro able to to this without having to use production lines in Asia and still beat the competition on price & build quality?"
Assuming that is a serious question:
According to this 'salary guide' website, the typical electronics engineer in Turkey earns 14300 Lira P.A. Let's assume NM's engineers are a cut above the average, and earn 30000 Lira P

The hole upsets the detector, single-freq machines are prone to it, even multi-freq machines can suffer. Try using pinpoint mode, it may give you a more reliable confirmation the target is still in the hole.

Quote:"6 squares of 1 meter x 1 meter. Each square containing 10 boxes"
Is Alexandre setting us a mathematical puzzle, here ?
I'll have first guess: I make it 36 'boxes' in total, for each metre box. Total = 6 x 36 = 216 'squares'.

I'd say it was a button, just an uncommon wire fixing variant, perhaps for an ornamental button, that wasn't intended to have anything subsequently fastened to it.
I've found ( over here in the UK ) a 'cloak fastener', that had an identical two-wire rear fixing, though the front was more like a hook than a button.

Look like?
The loudest fluoro colour possible, with an ultra-bright flashing LED or two on it. And maybe a radio-location pinger that cuts in after some time/period of non-motion.
It has to be hydro-dynamic at the business end. Coil with thin profile, rounded leading/trailing edges, no ugly 'spokes' , a clean clevis/rod connection area. The rod needs to be thin / wide on it's low

It's not inconceivable that with the right frequency, some degree of ground penetration is possible. It's often stated that above about 1 GHz, the water in the ground absorbs too much signal, and it's obviously going to be particularly bad at 2.4 Ghz, microwave oven frequency. But there are small 'windows' where radio signals will pass through the air to an extent, at mil

"... 5 hours ... get busy figuring out how to change that"
It states there's 2 batteries supplied, so that's 10 hours use, which would satisfy most customers. And presumably heavy users could purchase an additional pack.
Re: the NiMH battery, not Lithium-chemistry: Obviously there are many technical differences between the two, some good and some bad features to each type. O

It is a grey area, some folks do use "like new" to mean very good used condition, which is why I like that eBay clarified their listing rules, and forced users to specify the condition: New; New(other); Used , there is no "like new". If it's used, and looks fantastic, say 'it's used and looks fantastic'. Then the abiguity is gone.

I personally dislike the use of the term "Like New", and it's one of the rare things where I agree with eBay. They 'banned' the use of the term "Like New" in item descriptions, many years ago. One reason they gave was: the title contains the word "new" , so if someone searched for a 'new' item, they would incorrectly get hits on secondhand g

I doubt that they will be cheaper in the US. Imports from the US are subject to an import duty, (9% in the UK, I think), plus V.A.T ( Value Added Tax ) of 20% on top of that, and not just on the value of the item, but the shipping cost too.
So as an illustratative example:
US Cost 2000 Dollars.
Shipping cost 60 Dollars.
Import duty of 9% of 2000 Dollars = 180 Dollars
VAT at 20% of ( 2000 + 1

A few years ago, Alexandre revealed some technical details about the innards of the original 'big box' Manta, and it didn't sound cheap ... multiple microprocessors, four-layer circuit board, difficult to construct/adjust fast coil. Then add the cost of re-developing it to make it mass-produceable, compact, rugged, waterproof etc. Then consider that it's a niche machine, so sa

This 'detectorprospector' thread was the first discussion about the EQX frequency output I know of:
And there's plenty of discussion over on Geotech1 forum about the frequencies used by the Eqx.
These two being the main ones:

Be aware there's a lot of 'experimental' stuff in them, with some pure speculation, some red herrings and more.

Quote:"Multi-IQ is not a 'dual frequency' detector"
There is no 'scientific' definition of what Multi-IQ is. Just because the Eqx happens to use 3 freqs in most modes ( and 4 in Beach ) doesn't mean the Vanquish has to do so. It could use two frequencies and be pretty effective. And they don't have to be the same frequencies as the Eqx, either - if they

The simple way to combat EMI is to transmit a stronger TX signal. Then the wanted signals from the target ( and the ground of course) wil be stronger, but the EMI will remain the same, as the receive side of the detector is unchanged. Massive changes are not necessary, simply doubling the coil voltage would be pretty effective, and not hard to achieve. Power draw from the battery would increase m
