I'm with TerraDigger, too. I wouldn't just walk away from the situation. If nothing else, there is some principal involved, as well. If what Keith says is fact, you could get yourself a good working coil. Look, Garrett is not going to admit to any problem, but will in all likelihood quietly replace any bad coils sent back to them. Good luck. HH jim tn

SJ turned it into another BASH effort. It seems all his bashing threads are gone. This seems like the only forum one can get a serious and honest AT report from. HH jim tn

Certainly being water proof is an advantage. I don't enjoy hunting in the rain so that feature is not a selling point for me. The other issues I mentioned are things that I simply don't want to deal with with purchasing a new detector. I've had T 2's and F 75's and now the F 75 LTD and the Omega and the way things stand right now with the AT Pro, I wouldn't sell or t

I don't see the AT Pro actually taking all that many sales away from FT. Most of us now swinging Teks and Fishers know what we have are waiting for the next detector that is better then what we currently have. As of right now, I don't see that being the AT, for me. I don't care for the idea of having to tape my rods to make them tighter right out of the box. Nor do I want the hassl

I don't have a problem getting 8-9" on a coin with the Omega, either and have hunted behind my friend that has a Safari and get coins it has missed. Having said that, I have hunted behind myself numerous time and continue to find coins I and others have missed. HH jim tn

I agree with you Brad and Julien. I believe the AT has some definite shortcomings that should be addressed, but probably won't be, as so many of the "faithful" simply will not take their blinders off. Brad, you nailed it with, "I hope that they realize input from a broader base might be beneficial." it is unfortunate that many of the "faithful" don't realiz

I carry two in my suv all day long, driving or parked, and have never had a problem. They've not been in 100 degree heat for days on end, though. HH jim tn

I do use the 3 x 6 on trashy, but not severe trashy sites for the little extra coverage it has and seemingly a little more depth. On heavily trashed spots, the 5" wins hands down for me and I also feel it gets wonderful depth. Hh jim tn

I know where you are coming from, Bill, in wanting to get back out swinging. I had a pacemaker put in back in June and was out digging, (carefully) three days later. Just amazing what medical things can be done today. Glad you caught it all in time and on the mend. HH jim tn

My F 75 and F 75 LTD vid are always a bit bouncy, but good targets are usually a tighter vid then trash. Between vid and my ears, I am right far more often then not on what the target will be, including silver verses clad. In the limited time I have had with the Omega, I have found it to be spot on with everything but nickels. Nickels id as they should, bit so does some tabs and can slaw. HH jim

I have had two occasions to do side by side comparisons with an etrac, and both times my LTD sniffed out deep silver dimes that the etrac user said he would not have dug. Any deeper targets that he was going to dig, my LTD hit them nicely, as well. I run in bp with 0 disc. and sen. usually 85 and upward. My gb is usually in the mid 60's, but does vary some from site to site. HH jim tn

I had both and noticed no difference between the two stability wise, all things being equal. My F 75 was just a bit more deeper them the T 2. Whether this carries over to the LTD's, I don't know, but would suspect so. HH jim tn

Personally, I like as high a sen. as I can handle...usually 85-90, and am not fond of the 29 and under setting. For sites like old fairgrounds, I like the 5" coil and bp mode as this allows me to slow down and just inch my way along and carefully check every good sounding tic and peep. Away from the midway stretches where there is usually some less trash, then I would use the 11" coil.

I used the 6 1/2 a good bit with my F 75 when hunting very trashy spots and did well with it. Since getting the F 75 LTD and 5" coil, the 5" coil seldom comes off when hunting in the trash. The 5" has much better separation then the 6 1/2 and gets very nice depth. HH jim tn
