Nokta has posted the English version of the PulseDive User Manual on its web site at:
It looks good! I did some editing of it for them and didn't have very much to correct or suggest.
If you find errors or ambiguities, let me know and I'll pass them along. Nokta might not accept
all such suggestions, but they have been good about anything reasonable in the past.

The Nokta website shows the replaceable pointer coil hard shell case available in either black or yellow.
Maybe that means the pinpointer version is also available in either color? Just a guess.

Dilek made the product announcements at the show in Germany.
Two products. Here's what I recall:
1. PulseDive -- $189 complete with coil, $119 for pinpointer only. Available to dealers and distributors on April 1.
Pulse detector and pinpointer combo, waterproof to 60 meters (200 feet). Links with green wireless headphones already available. Available in yellow or black.

Hey, we're not talking about folding shovels here!
We're talking about Entrenching Tools!
(Only old fans of Tom Lehrer comedy songs will appreciate this reference, I guess.
Maybe some old GIs, too.)

Outstanding list, worth spending some time by all detectorists to study.
All that's missing is weights for most items. That would make the list even more amazing!

This discussion made me think of a fascinating "chart" that my friend Bill Watson put together
for our metal detecting club a couple of years ago. He tested the VDI of over 50 different
gold rings he had found in recent years, using both a White's and a Minelab detector.
He shows the White's VDI down the left hand side and the Minelab VDI down the right side.

Cal Cobra, I assume you meant that "it craps out on file sizes larger than 2GB", not 2MB.
That's still a problem, but it's three orders of magnitude better.

There were a few reports of water leaks with the White's MX Sport when it first came out.
I don't know how widespread the problem was, but a few people posted messages about it.

Do you have any idea why they picked 19 kHz as the high frequency instead of the 20 kHz they picked for the Impact?
I'm guessing maybe less EMI interference, or else just to distinguish one from the other. (Just guesses.)

More news on the Kruzer User Manual:
It has been updated (slightly) once again, on Feb. 12. So if you want the current copy,
download it again. The link I posted a couple of messages ago in this thread is still
the one to use.
However, one of my suggested edits has again not been included. Maybe one of you
Kruzer testers can try out the procedure below and tell me if I'm just wro

As posted on the main Kruzer announcement thread (by Rustic Charm), the Kruzer User Manual has
been posted at:
For those who downloaded it on Feb. 7 or 8, I recommend you download it again.
It has been updated. In fact, I just emailed another suggested fix to Dilek, so it
might get another update quickly. (We'll see if she agrees with my change.)

Dilek asked me to read the draft Kruzer manual. I reviewed it and sent her a list of suggested fixes and clarifications on January 29.
For the previous two manuals I edited for Nokta/Makro, she incorporated the updates and released the manual
very quickly. This time, a couple of my suggestions might have required her to meet with engineering or others to
clarify just what the manual should

Good link! Thanks for posting.
As usual, Monte provides a lot of good information, along with a rare (for him) rant.
When Monte rants, you can bet he has a good reason.
Too bad Kellyco isn't being responsive about new Impact coils. However, I also looked
on the websites of two other U.S. Nokta dealers, who also seem unable to stock the
IM13 coil. I would HOPE that they could work

Dilek announced the new IM13 coil for the Nokta Impact on June 29.
As of today, I still can't find it listed as being available from Nokta dealers in the U.S.
I checked the websites of several, including Kellyco and metaldetectors.com.
Has anyone found the IM13 to actually be available in the U.S.? If so, where?
Have any users of the production IM13 posted reviews or test results?

You're right. The Kellyco web site still shows ALL the Impact coils to be available
by pre-order only. That includes the two that come with the Pro Package already.
Guess it'll take a while for Nokta to get caught up on production.
Unless we hear otherwise from Dilek or Kellyco, I guess we can only monitor
Kellyco's website to see when the "Pre-order" notation goe

Here's one more Impact battery-life data point, if anyone is interested.
I bought a set of Harbor Freight's house brand AA rechargeable ("Thunderbolt Magnum"), claimed to
be 2200 mAh capacity. Cost was about $8 for a set of 4. I charged them up while waiting for
my Impact to arrive. (I plan to alternate the Harbor Freight AA's with the Nokta-supplied Varta

Well, just to wrap up my portion of this thread...
I received my Nokta Impact on April 25 and assembled it.
I stretched the lower shaft to the maximum mark (the line
beyond "7"), and tried it out. The length is pretty much perfect
for me! I was VERY happy to discover this.
After a short test in my back yard, I took the Impact to my local
park for a couple of hours, and then t

We now see the Impact being delivered from the production line to users
in the U.S. and around the world. But I haven't seen anyone mention yet
what software version is on the production Impact. Is it 1.11?
How about if a few of you mention what version you received?
And when updated software is released, but sure to tell us that, too!
If available, tell us what's different in

You're right on both counts, I think.
1. It appears to be the same as beach mode on the Racer/Racer2, based on the User Manual description.
2. Maybe COG has been tweaked or improved somehow, although the Racer's beach mode works pretty well
(on my local salt water beaches, at least). Try running the Gain either much higher or much lower than
the default setting, too.

In alkali soil, I'd think you would want to at least TRY the COG (Conductive Ground)
mode of the Impact. That's what it is supposed to be for (and also salt water beaches),
according the Impact User Manual.
