If the end product is the same as the one i saw in a test video where it failed in iron, Calabash is going to have a field day lolby ghound - Thomas Dankowski Metal Detecting Forum

About a year ago they were asking what they should call it, since then Garrett have the Apex ready to go, will there be any customers left for another multi detector?by ghound - Thomas Dankowski Metal Detecting Forum
Tnss, with salt mode on the audio sounds like it's being restricted, retarded, delayed or clipped, in a bad way, it sounds more alive and instantly reactive without salt mode. I'd be curious, if that shell was a couple of inches deep, would the MDT alert you to the target first sweep vs another detector?by ghound - Thomas Dankowski Metal Detecting Forum
Spotted this while browsing. "During an interview I had with them, it was revealed exclusively that "they range from 5khz to significantly higher than 20khz as used in the single frequency modes" Thats all we currently know"by ghound - Thomas Dankowski Metal Detecting Forum
TNSS, I'm not sure if its possible, but could you come up with a cross reference guide for the F75 fe bar vs Deus. I think it would be very handy for comparisons on here. Eg F75 4 bars = 5 bars Deus etc etcby ghound - Thomas Dankowski Metal Detecting Forum
Keith, I can't talk for those in England, I'm in Northern Ireland and it can vary greatly. My front field will fill the mineral scale on a Deus, some other areas will only register a couple of bars. The bigger issue is animal slurry, it's full of salt and minerals from concentrated winter feeds, then they pump it out over the pastures, it kills some detectors performance.by ghound - Thomas Dankowski Metal Detecting Forum
Good vid Keith, them cut quarters are a tough target, i don't find them any deeper than that myself, there easily missed on busy ground.by ghound - Thomas Dankowski Metal Detecting Forum
Play the ball, not the player. There's no need to shame anyone over their appearance.by ghound - Thomas Dankowski Metal Detecting Forum
Tom, sure the Nox sees through 90% of coke in field 1 without notching it out, it also gives a much more accurate audio/ID number. In Aarons cut 1/4 with the coke above it, the Tarsacci was upscaling it into the 20's, when i tried the same test the Nox shifted 1 ID point. I suppose you have to balance up what you prefer, more accurate multi tone audio from the Nox, or beep and dig from theby ghound - Thomas Dankowski Metal Detecting Forum
Neither of those detectors would be my first choice for that type of detecting (plough, stubble, rolled etc), but the Nox and MDT are quite similar in results in this test in my eyes.by ghound - Thomas Dankowski Metal Detecting Forum
Tnss, my old pastures are covered in animal slurry 2 or 3 times a year, it's full of minerals that they feed to pigs and cattle over the winter. I'm not sure if it's a thing in the US, but it defo effects how a detector runs.by ghound - Thomas Dankowski Metal Detecting Forum
Good vid, thanks for showing it.by ghound - Thomas Dankowski Metal Detecting Forum
I thought there was already Tarsacci's in the UK? I'm near sure I saw someone here in the UK selling headphones for them, so is there a UK dealer? . . To Quote Aaron from some weeks back. The MDT 8000, as mentioned earlier was developed by Dimatar, SPECIFICALLY for relic hunting Roman coins amid ancient decomposing (highly conductive) iron in Bulgaria. Their are TARSACCI users iby ghound - Thomas Dankowski Metal Detecting Forum
Love the music Cal, a wee gift from us in Ulster. . .by ghound - Thomas Dankowski Metal Detecting Forum
It would have been nice to hear the nail being swept in ground on it's own, it looks like it's the one he dug on his first outing. I can only guess when it was in ground that it gave off enough high tone to make him dig it. Has manipulating the GB just taken the nail out of the iron zone and gave it a positive ID, i see it reads about +7 and would you not be doing the same to other iroby ghound - Thomas Dankowski Metal Detecting Forum
It's defo a nice feature to see through coke, and allows us folks in the UK to compare it with our current detectors to see the difference. Can i ask about the salt balance, i guess it's a one time use. If you set it to see through coke you'll pick up foil, or if you need it to see through salty ground (ground slurred with animal waste) it will pick up both coke and foil?by ghound - Thomas Dankowski Metal Detecting Forum
Now we're smoking! that's defo better than i thought it was going to be on the nail above coin. It so sounds like the AKA Signum, especially the mixed mode, but the Signum would really struggle with iron above coin settings. Where do the cut half and quarter read on the MDT Keith, the quarters are a hard target at any more than an inch or two deep, the Nox loves them though. Thanksby ghound - Thomas Dankowski Metal Detecting Forum
That looks like lots of fun Cal, kids defo enjoying it.by ghound - Thomas Dankowski Metal Detecting Forum
Yes it's a great feeling, there not found in abundance in my area, so you've got to enjoy it when you dig them. After 700 odd years in the dirt it decided to come up for air. Love that 15 inch coil on the Nox, it's a killer on pasture.by ghound - Thomas Dankowski Metal Detecting Forum
Nice finds Cal, your loving the water hunting.by ghound - Thomas Dankowski Metal Detecting Forum
Yes that's cool Keith, it's defo doing something magic. Is the salinity setting the key?by ghound - Thomas Dankowski Metal Detecting Forum
No Aaron, I'm not discriminating it out in Field 1, i run it wide open, the detector is ignoring it, this vid will help. Aaron Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Your ignoring the coke, we get that. > > The point is....when you disc out that coke what h > appens if you have one of those tiny hammered coin > s under that coke?by ghound - Thomas Dankowski Metal Detecting Forum
No, not discriminating out any numbers in field 1, and you still can hit targets in that range. In field 2 you have to disc 1-2 or assign them a tone as it hits coke. . "From the Nox user manual Field 1 Multi-IQ, even with Target IDs 1 and 2 accepted, will reject more coke more than Field 2 using Multi-IQ."by ghound - Thomas Dankowski Metal Detecting Forum
In field 1 it all but ignores the largest of coke, and it doesn't give an ID, So you can can choose to dig ID 1 or 2 and be pretty confident it's not coke. Perhaps I'm looking at it from the wrong angle?by ghound - Thomas Dankowski Metal Detecting Forum
Where abouts on the MDT scale does coke read, and is it the same reading on the surface as in ground? Lots of detectors can ID it on the surface but when it's 6+ inch deep it starts to sound like a good target, the Nox is very good at keeping it in the 1-2 ID numbers and to be fair, in field 1 it all but ignores it even with ID 1 and 2 accepted, so you can still dig targets in that ID rangeby ghound - Thomas Dankowski Metal Detecting Forum
