This is an extremely deep P.I. detector. It also features a very fast response and good gold optimization. Even with a pulse like the AQ that has some iron rejection capabilities, you can't expect it to perform like a VLF. This will be the most powerful and effective gold getting machine for the beach and shallow water to date, but it requires some basic pulse hunting skills. Like any pow

A Few Notes on the Nokta / Makro Simplex
I originally thought that the Notka / Makro Simplex + would be a good lightweight backup to take cycling or in my pack along the beach. It’s turned out to be a lot more. The Simplex is now my go-to park machine. I say this because if it’s excellent trash rejection and overall accuracy. This is a detector with very sophisticated electronics. When I ta

No, this detector is a beast--it has all the best things about the TDI Pro (including the depth which might even be better) better audio and a lot more stable down in the low uSc ranges. Its gold optimized and has two kinds of iron rejection. Remarkable accomplishment--I know this machine is going to give me just the edge I need competing with top pros. Now it's up to me to learn.

I guess this way of doing things keeps the "stem wobble" complaint type guys to a dull roar....a good thing when we are talking about a multi million dollar research and development project...

This is sharp detector to begin with and this upgrade has some very well thought out improvements. The audio seems a lot more like the Anfibio --bringing up consistent targets really well. I especially like how it sounds in the field mode--very sharp in iron. I had also noticed just how fast you had to be to get in an adjustment before the search screen returned--now--it's slowed down and l

2/ The Anfibio’s Strengths: Audio
Every Nokta / Makro detector I try seems to have better, cleaner, more informative audio than the last. The Anfibio is also what would be termed a “high bias” detector in that when you learn to listen for extension in the response--you can become very accurate. This sharp, clean audio lets you hear a real lot of detail about what is under the coil. There are

These high gain machines respond not so much to metals but to extreme changes in what's under the coil. Sounds like what you are hearing is ground noises--but with no definite signature that would give a meter reading. Either that or an "out of range" target. cjc

Thanks Tom. I just think that when you have a solid understanding of things like Modulation, Gain, Signal Balancing and Iron Bias--a lot of things that were confusing before fall into place. The book is not meant to be a substitute for time in the field--more of a template for testing and adapting under your conditions. cjc
