Disc and notch both reduce depth. Not always a bad thing, especially in heavy trash where you may not hear a good target because of all the noise. If you are using threshold then disc may cause a null over trash that may also cause a null over a nearby good target. Get on you tube and check Calabash Digger videos, specifically the one addressing the effect of disc and notch. It is for XP Deus but

Best advice on old underground mines is to stay out of them. There are any number of life threatening things in them. Critters, open shafts (some covered by water), sensitive dynamite, rocks ready to collapse with slight provocation, and sneakiest of all - gasses. You don't notice them until it's too late and simply pass out.
Don't do it.

Personally, I don't care which is deeper, better on low conductors, better on high conductors, has x-ray vision, can pick lotto numbers or anything else. It's only better if it's better for me where and how I hunt. It or any other machine can provide hours of entertainment learning how best to run it in several situations but they will have to be MY situations before it means much

The Eq may not have made all VLF detectors obsolete but in some cases it may have made a few detectorists obsolete because of their inability to adjust to anything different.

"Chirps" are one thing but what about the CTX's ability to indicate two targets, both good and bad, on the screen at once? I saw no mention of that.

The guy was a millionaire, choppers could have been hired to carry it anywhere.

Don't have mine yet but have been reading reports. Could be that the EQ has idiosyncrasies that we're not expecting based on experience with other machines. For example I've seen a report saying that a recovery speed faster than I would have tried gives better results than a slow speed even though faster recovery is supposed to be shallower than slow. Just one example but could be

I think the Deus tried to address this vagueness with it's recent free update. You can now autotrack or not but you can also adjust how sensitive the machine is to ground changes, which means that in effect you can adjust how much ground change it takes to make autotrack adjust itself.
In addition there has always been an on-screen display of the current ground number and a mineralizatio

Someone can probably make some good money if they can come up with a converter to use the CTX waterphone connector on a Nox. I hope they hurry.
