I think there is something to be said for going slow in heavy iron and trash, an FBS detector can surprise you with the right coil on it and taking it slow.

I sold detecting equipment on ebay for almost 10 years, but now that they want my bank info I am done selling on their site. I imagine they have lost a good many sellers for that very reason.

It's something how the TID gets dragged down, I am going to have to go over some areas again, I wasn't digging 19's and 20's because I thought they were zincs.

It was hard to see the Whites company close their doors and the V3i is a great detector along with a few other iconic Whites detectors, but after a period of time they will drop in popularity amongst the up and coming detectorist's who will have a lot of new tech to chooses from. Now a days companies are able to squeeze a lot more goodies into smaller lighter packages that are a lot easier

The best detectors I have used in heavy EMI were any of my Minelab FBS technology machines, my DFX does really well in EMI as well. Not sure why.

I am not a relic hunter but from what I have seen others say and do I believe at some sites you have to clear out the large iron to see what possibly lies underneath it. I don't know of any detector that can see a coin sized target under a domino sized piece of iron, if there is one I would like to know what it is because I want one.

Deus, I live in western PA and I have tried many different detectors in the iron infested and square nail infested spots and out of all of them the Deus had the least falsing. Regarding the Nox I have been able to reduce the falsing problem by dropping my sensitivity to 20 when in the heavy nails plus I run my iron bias up to 6 using field 1 mode, I also run my recovery at 6 in heavy nails. It is

I would check around anything else on the property that could be considered a landmark, big trees, tree stumps, big rocks, if the guy buried one box there could be others. Great find!

I get people asking me all the time about metal detecting when I am park hunting, they usually ask me what is the best metal detector to start out with and the sentence usually ends with " I want something that doesn't cost to much" I usually tell them about the Simplex, very easy to understand, very durable, it can take a beating, you don't have to buy batteries for it and it

Is there a 9.9 before you get to 10 on the disc, I can't remember, if so then you have a lot more disc left to go from what I saw when you raised your disc. It looked like you just got to disc of 10

When you say under 3000 dollars you are pretty much letting all the top enders in the conversation, you will get a hot debate with that proclamation. Best under 1000 bucks I would agree with.

I haven't heard anything negative about the Detech Ultimate 13" coil, I know they are really light for their size, Nel coils are heavier. I had one on an AT Pro once and I had to keep taking breaks while I was swinging it to rest my arm and shoulder, that's been my experience with the large Nel coils.

Has anybody tried this system? I have bought 3 different Quest systems and they all failed on me and the last Z-link I bought kept turning itself off for no apparent reason. Just wondered if anybody had given the MARS a shot.

My experience on hillsides has shown me that on areas water doesn't stand the older coins don't seem to sink much beyond 4 or 5 inches, I have found a lot of coins that were dropped 100 years ago that were at that depth on hillsides, I think it is because water doesn't stay there and saturate the ground, it runs off for the most part and the coins pretty much stay put. That is my
