The F75LTD is still near the top of machines today. Make it water proof, add more control features found on some newer machines, multi frequencies, and it would be hard to beat.

I use to run a CZ5 and in real bad dirt, it did the same thing. Worked great here in East NC, but I took it to the mountains where my uncle lives and it was almost useless there. Over 2 or 3 inches, it was IDing everything as iron.

I bought one for my wife and it is better than a lot of people say. It is very sensitive and gets good depth. Not the best on batteries. The wireless option uses batteries up faster. I use a F75LTD and have got her to check deep targets I hit and she hears most all of them.

With what ever the DST is with the new F75s and t2s, comparing the new machines to the old ones without it is a joke. People say the Etrac is above the Nox and the Old Explorer XS is better than the Etrac. I have the xs and it isn't even close to the F75LTD on depth or deep ID, except on the salt beaches. The Explorer is king there.

If it's like my Multi Kruzer that I have the Anfibio coil on, You can notch out 97 to 99 and run disk up around 10 and kill most of the chatter and loose very little if any depth from testing I have done. Doing this lets me run gain higher.

The t2 and f75 are still the kings in my book. I have been detecting for 20+ years and have seen nothing that will stop me from using them. FT can't even top them yet and that's why they just add to them. These new machines that ID everything deep at 99 or jump everywhere and fall apart don't impress me.

I just got a Multi Kruzer WITH 3 coils including the Anfibio coil to find an advantage over my older detectors. Depth is not one of them for sure already. Separation in trash is the only thing I am testing now to see if I keep it. No way it wins on depth when you can't tell a deep target from chatter. Stop chatter and no depth. That's a honest test.

Funny thing is, that anyone who takes these new machines out to hunt with people who know how to run a F75LTD or T2SE and think they will win most of the time will probably get hurt feelings.

Even a deep low tone, but sometimes that low tone bounces or ID's an unusual number for a nail. Some times a person that knows the machine can hear and see what to dig from experience. Hard to understand when you just grab a machine to boost your opinion in your known target test garden.

Funny how someone thinks any deep target IDs at 99 vs a machine that IDs a deep target iron. Really, what is the difference. Deep coin, foil, pull tab, nail at 99 vs the same with iron ID? 99 HIGH TONE VS LOW IRON TONE? Gimmick?
