"However, the GPX 6000 comes with a 14" DD coil, and that coil has a specific salt setting that balances all the way to salt water. So in theory the 14" DD is good for saltwater beaches, and the 11" mono will probably handle dry to slightly damp stuff. The machine will have punch on gold obviously, as well as hots for micro jewelry. At $5999 not everyone will be out there with

No, we are in different locations. I feel the salt balance at 33 for my spot was correct.

Hi Steve
With the stock set up and the shaft extended all the way I estimate there is only enough coil cable left to extend 1" Dave

Had a good friend loan me his Tarsacci for a few months. Settings: Sens 9, Black sand ON, Salt 33, 9khz, disc -30, G-bal 623. Tested both coils
First off, if you are tall like me the detector is NOT long enough. I know Steve is working on an extension but here is the problem. Not enough coil cable length. So if you are tall and plan to order one, be sure to ask for longer coil cable length .

I will be coming up with a report soon. Not sure if an open hole to a target is a fair test. I am VERY impressed with the 12" coil. There have been a few deep targets recovered.
Several targets, I have removed some sand to get a better ID and then once iron is found move on.
The MDT does an incredible air test with targets exposed sitting on wet sand. My experience so far tells me wi

I'm 6'4. So buying a MDT might depend if an extension comes available. The current unit I am testing is maxed out and is too short for me.

I thought Tom's words sometime back were quite telling.
Something like: It would have been easier to develop a detector around a larger coil rather than a larger coil for the current Tarcassi.
