I think the major problem as stated above is all the different versions and firmware. Fisher better make sure their next Flagship Detector has user upgrade able firmware (where we can download it from their website and using a USB port, upgrade it).

I also think the Tesoro Vaquero would be a good detector for his first. You can't go wrong with knobs....

They are really sticking it to people. I hope people don't fall for this scam and really look into this.
First off it's a lease, which means you can pay it off early, but you still need to pay the full price of the detector and financing. (they state they will give you a slight discount if you pay it off early, but don't disclose what it will be).

I have seen an e-trac see coins the minelab se pro couldn't, both fitted with the stock coils. This was shown to me at two different locations. Both users had probably a few hundred hours under their belt, so they knew what they were doing (one even put out a metal detecting magazine at one time). One was an indian head cent and the other was a dime.

Thanks rebels, I'll have to look for that book. The article in this months American numismatic showed an average guy who didn't own a store, who stamped coins. Records show he was a miner before being hanged for murder. That article is what got me looking into counter-stamped coins.

I think this is related to metal detecting. A lot of Americans died under that flag. We dig up artifacts from the battles. While I don't fly it, I believe people have a right to do as they choose.
