One of my biggest mistakes...okay I have so many......was selling my xterra 705. That detector was impressive.

RoHS Lead free solder is a nightmare for electronics. - 11 years ago

A couple of things I wish to discuss. If you buy an expensive piece of electronics and it is marked RoHS (Lead Free Solder), I would make sure to invest in a warranty. The solder does not flow good on the components when boards are being manufactured using lead free solder. I am trying to buy a XP Deus. I can either get the remote and coil OR the backphones and coil, I can't afford both. My questions is has anyone found a way to access the reactivity setting on the backphones? Or is there a way around it? Thanks in advance for your input.

One problem I see is which line is the premium detector line? Nokta has more expensive units and more choice. Makro's price on the Racer is more then the Nokta Impact.

Air tests mean a lot. If your detector does not air test a coin at 10 inches then I doubt it will find one in the ground at 10 inches.

Energizer batteries are the best. The old company I worked for (over 200,000 employees worldwide) did extensive testing on this subject. Just thought I would throw this out there.

What is everyone opinion of the cheapest usable metal detector out there...new or used? The Tesoro Compadre comes to mind and maybe the Ace 150.

I have read that the Makro CF77 made by Nokta is deeper then the Fors Core.

Keith is that the Island now covered by water? Curious as I have heard tales from some of the local guys and seen pictures of an island (cant remember the name) with battlements.

Use PCGS or NGC to grade and slab it. I don't trust some if the other grading companies, but these two are good.

Amazing news. Boat is from between the years 990 and 1050ad using carbon dating. Viking sword found at the site as well.

I hunted the fields where Morgan was captured next to the Ohio River. The field I hunted had been hunted by a college who had organized over 60 metal detectorists and they lined up side by side and hunted the whole field, turned around and came back. Cheap Metal Detector Pretty Darn Good - 11 years ago

JNL Bounty Hunter VLF2.1 Metal Detector sells for only $58.16 at Walmart. Response time is decent and I can name several detectors it can beat...lol. Guy doing this video did a good job. What is neat is the detector hitting the coin between the two nails being discriminated out. It looks like the coin is touching the nails and he gets a response in both directions of the swing.
