I want to thank NasaTom and the Forum for a trouble free sale with a good man from my own state. I still have some PM's from several of y'all and I WILL get to them and reply. I went detecting today and got spanked by a fellow with a Nokta Impact. I went home, took a nap, thoroughly humbled. lol

Thank you Johnb......very much for you kind comments. Momma is with Jesus now. Empty platitude? It seems that way. But I know that Momma was a person of strong faith and I tested her faith during my drinking and drugging days. She was a strong woman and it was my highest honor to be able to give back to her 6 years of my life. Y'all, for the most part, have been VERY instrumental in help

First, I want to thank all of you for your kind words. They are sincere and I appreciate them. I have had several PM's about coil size. It has the 9 inch coil. I tried the 11 but as soon as I installed it, my finds count went down. It was likely me and not the 11 in coil that caused this. But to me, the Deus just operates better with 9 inch coil. Pics are forthcoming.

DHi everyone. My mother passed away from bi-lateral pneumonia on April 20. I was her caregiver for 6 years. My life is changing and I need to sell some stuff just so I can buy gasoline, food, and so on. I have found a lot of relics with this machine. The ws-5 headphones are clear as crystal. This is a brandnew laptop and I will figure out how to post a pic of this unit. Still got the box that it

And I need feedback from the Civil War historians to help me identify it's origin. I took the pic with the very small lettering and if the camera didn't pick it up, I'll try my best at trying to decipher it here:

That was my best effort. I need to purchase a jewelers loop to see better. Here's the pic:

I read the link. Am I correct in thinking that Fisher is opening a window of time for F75 owners to get the DSI and that there is no new upgrade? (I could have worded that better) I'm still looking for that magic stick that will hit a cuff button at a foot and a half. LOL

I second NasaTom's idea. I would give my left......big toe to be able to even get to watch. Would a live walking web-cam be a possibility? Surely, there will be SOME form of video documentation. I wish that they would detect around Northumbria (where my paternal ancestors are from) and see if someone can find evidence of Viking raids in that are. Yeah, I'm a big Vikings watcher (Hist

Thank you for replying with feedback, Cal Cobra. It is much appreciated. I am going to try both the NEL Tornado AND the Mars Tiger in some controlled testing along with the 11 inch standard Makro Search coil. I went digging yesterday (using the Deus) in a favorite Iowa Calvary campsite. This is a cultivated field (but the use seed drilling technique) instead of plowing with a turning plow a

I ACER Aspire laptop and my provider is Charter Communications. It was super fast when I first got it. Now it is ALMOST as slow as DSL. (I realize that this is off topic but I am going to get on topic presently). I have been getting these ADOBE (little windows that appear at start-up). I was wondering if it is safe to proceed. And.......is it free? Thanks guys. kevin

Or, the NEL Tornado (12 x 13) coil??? I have tried the Makro (that REALLY BIG coil) and I did find some unusually deep stuff, but these aftermarket offerings sound nice. On one post, a guy from Wales noticed a 2 to 3 inch depth increase using the Mars Tiger. I read the post on the Findmall about "Has anyone tried aftermarket coils on Racer 2" including Monte's response (I a

It has a crown on the back of it....along with some ornate designs, although they are faint. I am about to drop the pics into this thread, and hopefully the pic of the back will show the crown (which makes me think that it is of British manufacturing.

Keith, I have a funny little ditty to tell about this: I got my first detector 5 or 6 yrs ago. It was a Garret ACE 250. I had never read a metal detecting forum and had no idea how a metal detector worked. I thought that it was sending sound waves into the ground (like a depth/fish finder transponder) and if anything metal (or hard) would send an echo back that would be run through a battery o

Keith, I sincerely wish the very Merriest of Christmases to you and yours. I am VERY grateful to have a friend like you. You give the metal detecting hobby a dignity and you freely help me out on the phone when I'm showering you with questions. Thank you for your patience. Be happy.

Thank you Welgund. I took the Relic out hunting yesterday. I am hunting in an area that is not rich in targets.....so I found nothing but only hunted for about an hour.....but I sure did find a lot of .22 hulls and some of them things were 2 to 5 inches deep. So far, I like the Relic and I like the 19 kHz. Merry Christmas

I have yet to use my new NOKTA Fors Relic. I have an hour or two to hunt this afternoon. I will be hunting a very low trash area. The ground is moderately mineralized. Can another Fors RELIC owner give me a setting that you have found effective?? The weather just up and turned purty and I have not even had the unit in my test garden yet. I have read the owners manual after I found it onlin

Jimmie, that sounds like a good idea. Even after de-fragging my computer, it still takes forever before I can scroll the page. Sometimes, a pop up message will say: Download is taking a while due to long-running script. I'll try that program you mentioned. I also appreciate everyone's answers. Merry Christmas forum members. kevin

I just defragged my laptop and so far, I see great improvement. I have my computer set to defrag at 1 am every week or so. In fact, I think that this must be a default setting because I never recall setting a 'defrag' setting since I had never heard the term until NasaTom posted it (thanks NasaTom). But since it is set at 1am, and my laptop will be folded up and off.....how would

The Forum is still running slow oday. I just checked this thread for the first time and cannot and I have to double type each letter/ character.. It just took me three minutes to type up to this point. It is definitely my running system or something. Please define: defrag for me. If that doesn't work, I am headed to Wally World for a new laptop. Would y'all make some suggestions

Over the last month, when I click on the Dankowski Forum, it runs really slow on my PC. I am running Windows Home Premium 7 on my 6 year old ACER. I am on Charter Cable internet service, which was supposed to be the fastest. But now, on this site, I have to type individual letters twice, sometimes, before the letter will appear. I am definitely not trying to dis-respect the Forum or it'

What kind of good looking button is that on the right of the pic. And thanks for the pics of your finds. I wish that everyone would post their pics if they had a good hunt because, frankly, I like to see them and I am learning to identify relics by detectorists who post their findings and the ensuing converstion about the finds. Well done and Merry Christmas. kevin
